I don't think anyone believed Israel would have the audacity to kill the military leadership of a full sovereign country. This is not like killing nasarallah. Israel has never gone after the leadership of another country openly.

This is an open challenge against common international norms where countries don't try assassinate leadership even during times of war. Cause that will expose them to retaliation as well.

So targeting the leadership was a surprise. Using drones from inside ( ala ukraine) is also something new.

Other than that, nothing Israel has done so far is impressive. Attacking Iran with standoff missiles is well within expectations.

If Iran has morale and cohesion, they can also assassinate Israeli leadership later when they are no longer in hiding. Assassination of random military leaders is not that difficult.

What Iran needs to do now is regroup, slowly bring out hidden missiles out of bunkers that I am sure they have and then launch their own counter strike. Let's see if they can do that.

In the long run, it doesn't matter if China intervenes directly or not. The US is coming for China. what happen to Iran's hypersonic missile that they touted a few years ago? They still haven't launch any of it.


Another thing is Israel needs to send troops into Iran if they want a full regime change. Killing top figures will not completely change the regime.

The worst possible outcome is if these strikes fail to degrade Iranian nuclear capability and instead open the pathway to nuclear breakout. I might be the only one here, but I don't want to see further nuclear proliferation.

They might retaliate in the coming hours since night is approaching in tel Aviv and that's when ballistic missiles can light up the night sky for maximum media effect.

They did this the last 2 strikes.

If they don't then Israel has probably crippled their ability to retaliate

everything was destroyed on the ground by FPV drones launched by saboteurs in a base located in Tehran itself.


Iranian government does not even control Tehran right now.
