Lowest total medal count since 2004. I wonder why. Maybe lack of interest in diverting resources to something China so easily dominates but which also lacks a good return on its investment? No idea.

Still a dominant first place in both gold and total count.
Perhaps in the future, we should suggest that the overall winning country in the medal count is determined by combining the para with the regular Olympics.
Going back to the medal presentation did anyone see the 16yrold girl with one arm and one leg win gold againts her competititors who had two working arms but non functioning legs in the 400 freestyle?
I thought ha now I'm bound to see a Chinese medal presentation, but no. After the first presentation, they cut away to interview a competitor from an earlier race and came back just as the Chinese girl was walking off the dais and then proceeded to show the other presentations. I think our tv director must have a snitch against the Chinese winning so much.

Rejoyce, and shame on the drug cheats. Looks like China is likely to be upgraded to bronze medal.

, following the 4x100m relay final.

He ran the opening leg before handing over the Zharnel Hughes as GB, with Richard Kilty on the third leg and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake on anchor, were edged out by Italy by just 0.01seconds.

But the celebrations were cut short within days as the results of Ujah’s “A” sample emerged.

Both substances have a similar effect to anabolic steroids.

The Brit star protested his innocence in the aftermath and insisted he was not a cheat.

But now the International Testing Agency has confirmed that UK athletics bosses have been told that the “B” sample has confirmed the earlier result.

Under anti-doping rules, Ujah and his team-mates will all lose their medals, with Canada now taking silver and China bronze.

Good grief, China has more than twice the gold medal count of the nearest contender, and you're still not satisfied?
