In Lvov, 09.05.14 they attack buses carrying the elderly WW2 veterans and their families to Victory Day parade and celebrations

I see a terrified young child crying inside the bus. I hope Putin comes down hard on those fascist pigs.

Kurt, to me, your post is confusing as usual :) so I might misunderstood you, but look:

and now I'll quote you:

There is the Russian militia with Russian flags on helmets and hexagonal wooden shields.

This seems to be true, while that picture seems to confirm what the blogger says (by the way, did you read the captions, Kurt?), which is the pro-Russian force collaborated with the Police. But again, I don't know what happened in Odessa on May 2, and I don't defend alleged Fascist nor alleged Anti-Fascist.

Oh Jura, you krack me up, Kurt has been confused since his Momma slapped his head for being insolent, Kurt you really should have minded your Momma, and this whole mess in Crimea wouldn't have happened?????

This "government" needs the support of people who celebrated the founding of the SS division Galizian

The vast majority of people who back the interim government are ordinary Ukrainians. The fact neo-Nazis "support" the government - and they see it more as "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" - doesn't mean the government acts in their favour.

The regime was selected by Victoria Nuland

All I've read in the transcript is she talked about who she thought would be good. Can you quote a section that shows she selected the government?

The correspondent of my paper didn't mention that.

Unfortunately I can't find the link to the article I read it in. However, maybe you should consider reading several newspapers, with different political leanings, so you're not caught unawares of something like that again?

I did find this interesting Forbes article discussing how far the turnout may have been

.

A minister is always in function. He has to speak in name of the government or keep quiet.

Nope, in a Coalition like in Germany there's always cheeky pushing and pulling, because the Coalition members know they can get away with it. Merkel had to put up with her last foreign minister as well because he was FDP.

France would lose a court case.

What court case? In which country and in which court? What is the track record of that court in ruling against France in international disputes and enforcing payment?

Sanctions against France and not against other EU countries would do much more damage to France than than to Russia.

That would trigger a tougher response from the EU, because it would be seen as an economic attack against all of them.

And last, France would show itself to be an unreliable trading partner - to all countries in the World.

To those countries who are planning to invade and/or annex parts of their neighbours. I don't think the rest would be concerned. If anything, countries who aren't happy with Russia's part in this would be glad to see France stand up to Russia.

I don't disagree. However this support is so limited that the regime still can't do without the support from the neo-nazi's.

The court to use in case of conflicts are mentioned in such contracts. You would need to read the contract.

That would trigger a tougher response from the EU, because it would be seen as an economic attack against all of them.

As minister Steinmeier said the damage to the EU would be larger than to Russia. As there is no Russian invasion Germany and France will be able to prevent serious sanctions despite US pressure.

China and Russia are set to cement their energy alliance next week with an expected agreement to build a natural gas pipeline between the two nations that would secure a huge new market for the world's largest energy producer and provide a guaranteed energy supply for China's growing economy as both nations face confrontations with the West.
The deal, which the two countries negotiated over the last decade, is expected to be signed when Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Beijing next week.

The deal between Russia's Gazprom and China's state-owned energy giant CNPC was confirmed by sources in the Russian energy sector, according to a note from the Eurasia Group, a consultancy.

Current geopolitical conditions resulting from Russia’s ongoing crisis in Ukraine appear to have aligned the two super powers in such a manner favorable to finally concluding the deal.

“As the Ukraine crisis threatens Russian access to Western credit in the short term, while likely eroding Russia’s European gas market share over the next decade, Moscow is keen to secure a major new gas export market in Asia, as well as to demonstrate to the West that it has energy consumer options,” the Eurasia note said.

Escalating tensions in Ukraine have led developed nations, including the U.S., Canada, the European Union and Japan, to impose sanctions on a number of high-profile Russian companies close to the Putin.

Experts expect the agreement to include a 30-year delivery contract between Gazprom and CNPC for 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, with the potential to expand the annual capacity to 61 billion cubic meters. If the deal can be inked next week, construction for the pipeline will likely begin by the end of the year, and with operations beginning in 2018.

The price tag for the deal has not been announced, but Russia is expected to offer some concessions in lieu of prepayment from CNPC to help fund construction.

Unlike Western nations, China has steadily deepened economic ties with Russia in recent months. Chinese companies have been involved in building a bridge from Russia to Crimea and invested in a $27 billion liquid natural gas project with Russia’s second-largest natural gas producer, Novatek.

The latest deal, if successfully concluded, "would mark a crucial advancement in the growing Russia-China bilateral energy relationship, advance China's environmental agenda and perpetuate the push to erode Gazprom's gas pipeline export monopoly," the Eurasia Group said.

Is Ukraine really on brink of civil war?

A debate on the near-future of Ukraine and civil war

Ukraine is on the brink of civil war, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.
"When Ukrainians kill Ukrainians I believe this is as close to a civil war as you can get," Lavrov said in an interview with Bloomberg television.
Columbia University's Timothy Frye and Greylock Capital's Andrey Popel have debated whether Ukraine is really on the verge.

After Ukraine crisis has started in the Feb, the Russian has dumped about 25.8 billion worth of US treasury, about 20% of its holding. Although, somehow Belgium has managed to add about 40 billions during the same period. Didn't know Belgium is that rich.

The headquarters for the European Central Bank is located in Brussel.

I was being sarcastic. :) "Belgium" is mostly likely being used as a front/proxy to mask the real purchaser, could be the European Central Bank or the US treasury itself.
