Some things just defy all attempts at description!

On May the 9th when all former Soviet Union nations, especially Russians, celebrate their victory in the patriotic war against Nazis Germany.
This is the day that the Kiev Junta send in their new National Guard (ie far right militia) into a Russian speaking city and let them attack both Police that refuse to accept Kiev orders as legitimate and unarmed ethnic Russian civilians.
On top of this the appropriately (post Odessa) named Interior Minister Arsen Avakov boasts on his twitter account about twenty civilians being murdered by his militia.

This of course is the situation in the Port city of Mariupol and continued western government support for this unelected criminals junta is a disgrace.

SampanViking,

Jura

Here is a video with translation subtitles from the website of the Saker, who is a contributor to ATOL.
He certainly paints a different picture to my assumptions and talks at length about the red armbands

Otherwise, ...

it might, or it might not, depending on what's really happened in Odessa, which I don't know (this means nothing, of course) and people in Odessa don't know ... my impression is that many people, from both sides of the conflict!, fear they'll never know the answer ...

this afternoon I was able to talk to that half-Russian I mentioned, "in private" (the pub was empty, people off work because of the paid holiday on yesterday), and you know what the problem is? I don't know what side to take, and which source to believe ... I can't speak for him, but I think he doesn't know either

I just went through most of Czech, Polish servers ... found this picture which some SDF members will like, I guess :)

taken today (by some Polish radio correspondent) at a pro-Russian demonstration ... enjoy but don't ask me about the symbolics involved LOL

Naval Today said:
Five Ukrainian ships, which were based in Crimea, have been returned to Ukrainian command by the Russian Navy, according to the RIA Novosti.

Russia began returning ships to Ukraine last month, the first one being Ukrainian missile boat Pryluky.

The ships were towed by the Russian tugs to neutral waters and the Russian Navy covered the towage costs.

The Ukrainian Navy has received the ships in the same condition as they were in Crimea, said the acting head of the Sevastopol administration, Dmitry Belik.

Russia is returning the ships to Ukraine under bilateral agreements signed between defense ministries of the two countries.

Russian news agency ITAR-TASS said the Russian Navy is returning the ships as it deems them “old, obsolete and in poor condition”.

A total of 70 ships were left in Crimea when the crisis began, and the number of returned ships to Ukraine until now amounts to 33.

Some of the ships that redeployed to Odessa so far are degaussing ship Balta, missile boat Pryluky and tanker Fastiv.

Pryluky and Fastiv ships were blocked by the Russian military in March and are the first ships to have left Crimea.
My understanding is that this FAC, the Pryluky, U-153, a Tanker, the Fastiv, U-760, and a LCU, thew Kirovohrad, U-401, were three of the five ships spoken of in this article that were recently returned.

Its almost like the guys in Kiev are deliberately trying to goad Russia into sending in the tanks.

With this and Putin's recent U turn, it makes me wonder just what is going on behind the scenes.

Overall a surprising and refreshingly bias free report from the BBC.

Perhaps those oligarchs think the IMF money are their wages and no need to pay back? Sure, if and when things goes sideways they can simply hop onto their private jet and head for Switzerland.

Don't know how much a tough stance Putin made, but this year's victory day parades in Moscow and Crimea really brings the "old flavour" back if you ask me.

Well you do wonder!

I also wonder about this.
It is apparently the speech given by Governor of Kherson region Yuri Odarchenko, a Southern Coastal Region that borders The Crimea, yesterday to mark Victory Day.

Some are saying that he praised Hitler for liberating the Ukraine from the Soviet Union, others that that he said Hitler also came with promises of freedom. Sadly I do not speak the language so not able to translate for myslef.
Irrespective though, whether he praised Hitler or simply slagged off the Soviet Union, he caused a near riot among the families of the Red Army Veterans that had come to listen and celebrate.
