Sorry for not know too much about China (although I did travel there frequently) but seaman Askiah doesn't look Chinese and her name doesn't sound Chinese too. Wonder if she was one of the minority and if she is, does anyone know which group she actually belongs to and how many different type of minorities are there serving these new and modern warships?

I believe there are 56 major ethnic groups in China, with many smaller ones. Most typical Asian looking with some central Asians and some Caucasians as well.

Recently since this latest encounter between USN and supposedly a Type 072 LST Ive been interested in thier capabilitys

So we have 27 of all models of Type 072 they are

3 x Type 072
4 x Type 072 II
11 x Type 072 III
And 9 x Type 072A

Of these I would rank the Type 072 III and Type 072A as the more modern LST, I found this cutaway which shows a ramp which goes from below deck to top deck it shows 910 which is the older Type 072 III

Of true then this means a lot more carrying capacity for the LST than I thought but I am looking at a real picture of a Type 072A and think I can see the ramp here

It also means you can pack the well deck and pack the top deck with armoured vehicles and let them sail out the rear ramp door straight into the sea

So I think that cutaway is most likely accurate and Type 072 III and Type 072A have a ramp door between decks

Equipment loaded on the foredeck can only unload via the forward bow doors/ramp.

Really? Have you got a picture of this from that cutaway it looks like the ramp goes to the deck below

The cutaway shows the ramp down, its slopes forward in the down position, not enough room to go around it. Equip go out the bow ramp from topside.

Oh yes well spotted didn't see that one thanks for pointing that out! I see it now

Looks like lower deck can exit from rear and the bow but upper decks can only exit bow

True.. How he posted 22 pictures I don't know,... because the forum is set not to allow more than 15 photos per post. .. and as tphuang stated nothing new is posted.

By78 just posted dozens of random photos among quite a few threads... 052, 054, 071, Z-10, etc, with most of them being old photos.Maybe move them to the PLAAF and PLAN photo threads instead.


@by78, the main military threads are for upto date/new photos and discussion of of the subjects, not post after post of photos that we've seen before, regardless of how nice they may be.
