I think, regarding Chinese military information, in some situations, it IS too much. My 2cent.

I agree, but I don't have enough information, or for that matter, any information at all that indicates this is one of those situations. If the originator didn't want to reveal his sources or reasoning process, then he could have said so ask us to take it with faith.

But you did provide the source to the 'original information', and that source is you. This is why I have asked you to elaborate: do you work for the Chinese navy or do you have access to those who have the information? Or is this your own speculation or educated opinion, and if so, could you present to us how you've arrived at this opinion?

I hope it's not too much to ask that you flesh out your original statement for our edification.
Am I the one who is "keeping an eye on the developments" and said those words? Yes.
Are those my speculations? No, but the process to reach the answer involves simple and limited reasoning.
Is there any difference between the words I provided and the original source? Yes. The substrate is abstract, but the product is comprehensible.
Can the original source be provided? No.

If you cannot name the original source behind your claim, then tell us more about this source. Does the source have an established track record of reliability? If your claim has no source, then how did you arrive at it? What's your reasoning process?

Remember, your claim was highly specific:
The 15th 052D launched three weeks ago and keel of the 22nd 052D has been laid down two weeks ago.

So please understand my need for further elaboration: how and where did you obtain the information and/or arrive at the specific conclusion that the 22nd hull was laid down some two weeks ago?

I'm reading in between the lines a little bit, but I think what is being asked is whether you're claiming to be an insider, and if you are making that claim then it would be preferable to provide some sort of proof of it.

And you supposed to be the self appointed sheriff ? Who give you that right ? God?I think you overate yourself a bit. Get off your high horse
common Hendrik... anyone should provide the link or say where (s)he heard (for example on TV show ...) or eavesdropped (for example in a whiskey bar) the info (s)he posted

OR

should admit it's just his/her personal opinion

Clear it up

You said 22nd “052” on Twitter

And here you clearly said 22nd Type 052D

The latter is a nothing but fanboy stuff

Stop tripping and biting your tongue over such a trivial matter.
@Interstellar gave us an important and distinctive speculation that can easily be debated on as it was until the last page.
But going on personal attacks about one's capability to gather info is kind of crude if we call ourselves mannered people. He replied to my question about the source quite directly as being himself. He doesn't need to clarify if he doesn't like it but you definitely can't pressure him to give up anymore specification than he wants when he's already directing towards that.
Atleast respect the guy for being a source of healthy speculation if not directive intelligence about the number of ships.

That's not how things work here at Sinodefence Forum. It's expected that a claim very specific in nature, such as the one made by @Interstellar, is accompanied by a source. If the said claim is a personal speculation or educated guess, then it should be made clear, with an elaboration on the reasoning behind the speculation.

Or alternatively, for whatever reasons, should @Interstellar not be willing to elaborate further, he should simply say so and ask us to wait and see. If he's eventually proven correct, then it will have added to his credibility and track record.

But above all, terse and mysterious worded justifications are not helpful. Be direct and be clear, and we'll reciprocate.

Finally, let me remind you that Sinodefence Forum is not a fanboy website; it sets a higher bar for what qualifies as "healthy speculation".

I hope you realize that things also happen outside of SDF (such as context or track record); that people here don't know of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Of course.
I'm well aware of his reputation and posts outside of SDF which is why I haven't really challenged his posts or anything here and instead take them for what they're worth.

However, if one is not aware of that, then I think the claims he is making could be seen as over ambitious or even fanboyish and demanding a source or an explanation would be fairly reasonable.
