According to @伏尔戈星图 and Captain on Weibo (and also apparently hinted by SOYO as well), the 004's hull likely doesn't have the fully vertical side walls like the Nimitz and Ford classes, but instead has side walls that are slightly angled outwards, nearing or at the hangar deck level. This may point towards a slightly wider flight deck (and hangar deck).




For reference, here's what the Nimitz or Ford classes' side wall looks like:

It has correlations with other aspects of the ship's final size and thus displacement, which is something people are a bit... focused on.
