Just to elaborate and clarify, there is no indication that this tender has to do with a military program or the ship that is currently under construction in Dalian, whose nature is still to be determined.

If I'm getting your question correctly: No. The 004, a Ford-analogous, is a completely different design from the 003 (which is closer to the Forrestal-class). I'll even go out and say it's China's first fully indigenously designed CV(N) without noticeable Soviet influence.

Sorry, guys, I don't want to be a killjoy, but I would like to clarify that the purchaser in the first procurement announcement was Dalian Nuclear Power Petrochemical Company, one of China's major civilian nuclear power manufacturers, so it is perfectly natural for it to procure equipment for transporting reactors. Based on the announcement alone, it is impossible to establish a definite link with the propulsion system of the 004 aircraft carrier.
