New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

When Obama was running for President of the US, he said he was going to be known as the green President. Was it because he cared about the environment so much? No. He thought the US was going to dominate green technologies and there would be internationals laws forced upon the world to abide by thus the US would make all the money until he found out China was going to make all the money and on the turn of dime, he went out of his way to prevent any furthering of any environmental laws because China was going to make all the money. So his plan was to force the world especially in the developing world to have to buy more expensive US green tech whether they liked it or not.

Fast forward to today and Europe is suffering energy supply issues and now are reopening coal plants. And they were going to force the world to buy expensive Western green technology whether they liked it or not, whether they could afford it or not... no exceptions... except for themselves when they're in dire straights.

And now what do we have here? They're afraid of Chinese domination of superior Chinese EVs when they were going to force the world to buy more expensive and less efficient Western green tech... No exceptions. What's the difference here? China ain't forcing them to do anything. China ain't forcing them to buy cheaper and better green technology for EVs.

I havent follow this thread closely and i dont know if this is the right thread for this, but does anyone knows what is the status of solid state battery research in china, compared to other countries? I havent seen much about it.
I think full solid-state battery is 3-5 years away, both for China and other countries. However, sodium-ion battery and NIO's semi-solid-state battery will be available this year.

BYD is building China's most comprehensive NEV testing facility with the world's pioneering anti-seasonal testing capabilities. The test site's anti-seasonal laboratory will be able to simulate winter conditions indoors and perform endurance testing of vehicles, as well as testing of chassis systems and high voltage systems, helping to shorten vehicle development cycles.

More from Malaysia. They got someone to assemble T3 locally. It does still feel like they are exporting a lot of their older commercial vehicles. I hope they can change that going forward. They need to be pushing out more competitive vans, trucks, taxis and other vehicles too.

Hyper GT, the most aerodynamic production EV recently revealed at the Guangzhou Autoshow.
Looks pretty good for 300k RMB imo.
4 seconds to 100km/h, isn't that slower than the U8? Can't be a super car if it gets beat by a SUV, It does look good though.

Yangwang U8 crabwalk and spin demonstration, video extracted from the launch date.
If you look closely at the crabwalk segment, the car is using specially fitted mecanum wheels rather than regular tires, I don't think it is actually able to do the crab walk in normal driving conditions, they probably did it to showcase how precise their motor control tech is.
