Too many Qbu 191 than Qbz 191 in promotional photos and videos. What is the realistic ratio of these 2 rifle in the unit composition in the future ? BTW if PLA really like QBU design to QBZ, they shouldn’t had penny pinched on a little extra cost.

?
In those pictures, they are standing in rank and file, meaning that each position in each row the person of each role will hold the same weapon.

We are being shown the unit from an angled photo gallery where we happen to see the designated marksmen of each row, but we can also see others carry the LMG and standard QBZ-191s.

I'm not sure how you can make a guess of how many QBU-191s there are in this unit based on those photos alone, but I bet if you zoomed out it would be a standard composition.

Thanks Blitzo. I am more curious on standard composition in the future on squad level.

One per squad most likely , but maybe the PLA will do something like the US Marine with M27. Maybe PLA will shift to the idea that if everyone would be better off having a more accurate gun

Besides what @Blitzo has pointed out, I also want to remind you that we don't know what the unit in the photos really is.

The first screen dump talked about terrorists.

In the 3rd photo the soldier on the right most has a mini machine gun which seems really wired in regular infantry troops.

This makes me think that they are the border guard in Xinjiang. They are tasked to deal with terrorists infiltration. So they may have special composition of their equipment than regular troops. More marksman rifle certainly is preferred (if there is really more QBU in this report).

We don't really know how the LMG/SAW role is going to be filled. Will they uses the new belt fed or 191?

In that image you can see the QJB-201 beltfed LMG.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if in the squad, the designated marksman with QBU-191 as a heavy barrel automatic capable rifle also gets the longer range suppression role to complement the QJB-201 if needed.
