Is this photo taken by a PLAN sailor near the Taiwanese or Chinese coast? There are some hills in the background.

Damn, that ROCN ship had seen better days. Look at all that rust. Their sailors should come over to the PLAN. They can sail much newer and better ships, and finally fight for their true motherland.

Plus they even get paid, not like the sissy updoots on reddit they get serving the DPP
Taiwan decided to flex and do their own live fire artillery exercise only to end up in flames or causing a forest fire. What a mighty Army.

Taiwan? More like Jai wan

The only one of these that matters is suspending dialogue with America. Even that isn't very smart and is the equivalent of what America is doing with Russia.

Overall the response has me underwhelmed. These exercises are clearly not a blockade of any kind, despite what Taiwanese are saying. It's looking like the CPC overpromised and under delivered. Next time they should be doing the opposite.
Are you really that eager for a war that clearly isn't in the best interests of China/Taiwan knowing that death and destruction will exclusively happen in China's AOR?

I don't really understand this kind of thinking at all. What's the use of possibly killing or even harming the old hag through a miscalculation or even provoking a shooting war between the Taiwanese and China? The U.S. would happily sit back one out damage China to set her back so that America remains the top dog.

No need for a war, or to shoot down Pelosi. I think it was stupid to post on twitter that it was something that it was going to happen and not to do anything.

If the plan was to do nothing but exercises it would have been best to downplay or not mention the visit at all.

In terms of reponse I think the best response would have been an economic blockade. Force them to agree to a Hong Kong style deal. Use domestic agents to cause as much unrest and pressure on the Taiwanese authorities to agree to the deal. As fuel prices have been very high Taiwan have been dipping into their strategic reserves so are unprepared for it.

Again no war - America had Japan under economic blockade for a year with no war between them.

If it's not working it could always be lifted and things can go back to how they are now. It's not like Taiwan is going to invade China.

They probably won't but at least with them, what you see is what you get and we can avoid the whole "we are totally peace lovers and no, we aren't totally violating every agreement we signed with. And no, we aren't racists, we only hate the government, not the people you bat eating asiatic horde" double talk of the Democrats.
I think currently both sides of the aisle is pretty unanimous in being against China, but the constant flip flopping and inconsistent application of policy is really hurting them in regards to China. It would be a much greater threat if they had a proper Plan to contain China, but they don't and their tune switches every 2 years due to midterms, making their policies unpredictable and thus ineffective.

One thing that could result as a positive out of this fiasco for the US would be lighting a fire under TSMC's ass and forcing them to transfer their technology quicker into the new US fabs, definitely not in the interest of Taiwan.
