I didn't specifically point out this individual. And one can find out his anti CCP stance (

) readily. His sole focus is on fertility and CCP's tampering with what is his "concern".

China is well aware of Birth rate and issues. It doesn't need this person to enlighten. Priorities other than Fertility rates must and is certain to have been placed higher during the formulation and implementation of One Child policy. Surprisingly, it was India which tried to implement a One Child Policy before China. But India failed. Reason why governments might have tried to curb reproduction isn't exactly to exercise "control" as journalists who interview Yi Fuxian tries to conclude or note. Because governance doesn't start and end with TFR numbers. Does Yi Fuxian have the best interest of China at heart ? It doesn't seem so.

The fact that US doesn't invite Chinese party members/ Party affiliated academicians to matters significant to its governance BUT China/ CCP even considers inviting people from other countries tells a lot. Being a government employee or not is not exactly relevant.
Glanced over the article and I don't think his stance is anti-CCP outside of his criticism of their one child policy. If he is as concerned about China's fertility rate as I believe he is, his criticisms are valid.

I'm pretty sure a lot of American think tanks/forums would be open to have any Chinese citizen criticize their government at an event. It's just that there's no Chinese person willing to do it. Inviting this one former Chinese citizen to criticize China's demographics(which the CCP took seriously because they scrapped the One Child Policy months before he was allowed to speak) doesn't convince me the Chinese government is more open to criticism than the American government is. I would even go further and say if Wang Huning, the fifth ranking member in the CCP was willing to give a talk titled "American democracy is and will forever be a failure," he would be booked for months at events.

In China there are many people who oppose a one-child policy.

But those like Yi Fuxian are not much.

Yi Fuxian has a negative view of China's policy, publishes it under the academic perspective. And Western media uses it to criticize and attack China.

It is a mutually beneficial cooperation.

Yi Fuxian certainly received a lot of benefits from the West. It is a mutually beneficial cooperation. Yi Fuxian has a negative view of China's policy, publishes it under the academic perspective. And Western media uses it to criticize and attack China.
It’s not about the one child policy it’s about him blaming the ills of America on China that has nothing to do with one child policy. Do you understand the difference? It’s like saying the weather is bad because China’s one child policy in the past.

I glanced over and I think he is blindly anti-CCP. I don't see him recognizing the good effects of OCP or even imploring if any have been there.

His opinions can be of worth to the Departments/Ministry that handle Family planning and health but policies like OCP are drawn out after inputs from multiple sources and ministries.
Are you sure that there are NO Chinese person willing to do it? Seems like you like making up things as you go.

And you won't convince me, American government is more open to criticism than Chinese government. See, we disagree here.

An article might help. But if what you say is true then we may have overrated his objectivity ( even though the myopia may be ignored).

Post any proof of a credible Chinese academic wanting to dumpster the American government at a think tank and being denied. You can't and you're just dabbling in conspiracy. Yes, we disagree.

Oh, so now it's upto me to prove? You made the accusation so the onus is on you.
There's no Chinese person willing to criticize the American government at a think tank, otherwise it would have made news. Can't show something that doesn't exist. The fact that you're trying to argue the Chinese government being more open than the American government to criticism is laughable and you're not convincing anyone outside of this echo chamber.

Your reasoning is so flawed, it's sad.

You calling this forum an echo chamber when you yourself is here engaging in discussion tells me that you've slipped up.
And why this fascination with Think Tanks? US think tanks are one of the epitome of echo chambers. Next time don't make sweeping generalizations with phases like "NO Chinese", "ALL Chinese " etc.
