Ouch.
Last production destroyers with rotating centerline torpedo launchers are no more, they finally went with fixed 533mm tubes.
The era has ended.

48 VLS and 76 mm Gun and AK-630? and almost all weapon systems and radars are foreign ? not to mentioned the engine as well

It cost $1.2B each, more expensive than Chinese Type 055 ($0.88B) with the firepower and radar less than even Type 052D (~$0.5B) ? .. it is expensive because the efficiency of Chinese shipyard is much more efficient and also as mentioned above, almost all are foreign equipment

Even 052D has 64 VLS + 24 SAM and 130mm super efficient modern gun, and Type 1130 CIWS (which is much more modern and firepower than AK-630), etc

And China could have 2.5x 052D with the price of the ship above, because mainly all indigenous and super efficient shipyard .. and China's GDP is 5-6X of India .. go the figures  thats why in just a few years ... China has already 25x 052D and 8x 055

Wait are the numbers accurate? 1.2 billion is a ridiculous price. Or are they including life cycle maintenance cost in the calculation?

Indians don't have enough own tech at this time so they gotta buy expensive equipment from western countries or Isreal so prices are going up. Imho they should have bought only Russians stuff instead but it seems they are pivoting towards Europe and that becomes more expensive for them.

Also, after India becomes +5 trillion dollar economy and surpasses western countries and Japan for good they'll eventually are seen as "regime" and western countries can squeeze Indian military capabilities due Indians getting hamged on it for decades to come.

I kinda even doubt India can reach 5 trillion nominal this decade (by 2030). And even if they did, still doesn't get around the fact that they have to buy stuff from other nations (which is way costlier compared to what China can do) and, uh, their local stuff is way too overpriced as well lol.

Agreed. For India to become 5T USD economy they need to grow 8% per year until 2030 which is unprecedented in all of Indian history, and will be much harder due to climate change and COVID now.
