So what if South Koreans hate China. What are they going to do? Threaten war with China? This is a manipulation by the US because they want Chinese to value being liked as important. And I always say to Asians who like to point out how people hate China is are they the No.2 power in the world making No.1 feel insecure? And China achieved it without being liked. Asian ethnicities notoriously hate each other over nationalism. What has changed? Nothing.
@AssassinsMace Sir if I may, Since I'm in the travel business, I dealt a lot with Korean and Japanese partners. They prefer dealing with us Chinese cause we can relate and easy to make deals (we're flexible unlike the Japanese). And I rather find it difficult dealing with HK, Indians and some in Europe especially Italians and Greeks maybe because of the mentality or language barrier.

Sir that flexibility that I mention is what they valued, the pragmatism, we don't put ideology ahead of making a living, and we give respect, we haggle but negotiated a price that is fair and in return they understand what we want which is the quality of the service. That is how you build a good business relationship and from there you gain goodwill.

Once China becomes self-sufficient in semi-conductors(especially after reaching 7mn) , there is very little in trade that China that needs from South Korea or Japan. If they become very hostile, simply close the Chinese market for their goods. They will keep them in line.
@Agnus Amen to that bro, but a better strategy is to make them depend on you. The soft power, we already had the culture thing sewed up, next is trade (RCEP). That is what the current US strategy is implementing to severe that ties cause their narratives about the American Exceptionalism (hard power) is being shattered.

I don't mean do it willy nilly but doing it if they go extreme with their undermining of the One China policy. Violating your bottom line should create strict consequences.

@Agnus again bro agree with you, but you need to understand JPN and SK situation, they're our neighbors and they're in a bind. They need to play both side and the Chinese knew it. The CPC answer is simple by trading and buying a lot of things from them the weight of the scale will tip in your favor and you see that on how the CPC response from US sanction of Chinese tech companies, instead of retaliating they welcome them, making a win win situation instead of ZERO SUM game.

He is just having another senior moment

Sure did. As Deng put it: he's farted. Or it could deliberate to try and calm all those frogs in a well after what they have seen in Afghanistan.

More seriously though, I would like to see if he can make this stick. Let's see jow much they are willing to die for a little island.

You know, like late yesterday, after reading a couple of articles, some in the Western chattering class are going full Rambo in their columns.

 :p :D

That's because they have to save face after losing another one.

Did someone ask for Rambo?

Seems an important development. Japan will be having a "2+2" format security dialogue with Taiwan

Typical coward and nasty Japanese move. Why not hold it in governmental format instead of the proposed "party to party" format? I even doubt if there is an actual meeting to be held besides the publicity in newspaper. Japan is acting "worse" than the Czech republic who at least dared to have its chairman of the senate actually went to Taiwan.

And the bottom line is that China don't complain about such kind of act when the 3rd party participant does not have official position.

Gee don't these Japs ever learn anything? They've only regain what the lost from the last time they made waves with China.

I don't understand it either. Some seem to go far as to say it was a "win" and that letting the Taliban win was some type of 5D chess.

Americans clearly see this as a defeat, Republican or Democrat. The Russians agree.

Only in their minds, they somehow using it to obliterate this nasty lost again. Their mind bending abilities kind of reminds of a certain member here.

Yes, South Korean populace is definitely more anti-China compared to Japan. Japanese populace tends to be apolitical. But, I wouldn't trust polls too much especially if they're being used to push an anti-China agenda. These journos are trying to push a narrative to manufacture consent. Most of all, China is in a total position of strength when it comes to South Korea especially with the help of North Korea. Any action by South Korea is easily manageable. Plus, it is election season so they gonna talk big.

''We have more negative views of China therefore we should be more hostile towards China'' is an agenda that media always pushes.

Almost all polls still have Moon's party as leading.

Having negative views are nothing without the cojones to do something about it; when the anglo americans are forced out of asia for good, there will need to be a massive re-education campaign for northeast Asia.

1000 respondents were chosen from where? For example, I know neighbourhoods here in the Netherlands where you would have neo-Nazi ideas dominate such polls, yet Neo-Nazism is very weak in the Netherlands. There is simply no possibility of South Koreans viewing China in a more negative way than Japan.

@BoraTas Sir its from NYT what else can you expect...lol, that survey is a feel good materials used to maintain the USA #1 narratives after what happen in Afghanistan. It was used so frequently that I think it defeat its purpose.

NYT is out there to sow conflict. Couldn't be trusted as they have deep racist agenda to divide and conquer.

Polls, polls, polls. Where do people still take polls seriously? I can understand how the west use this tool, just like the human rights tool. Etc to indoctrinate their populace, but to us here? We are not that low brow, I hope.

This videos (I know it's a comedy, but it's nearer to the truth than you might think)

"Around 2.1 GW of solar projects representing a total investment of about $2.2 billion on a payroll of 3,000 construction workers is at risk as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforces action to stop the flow of goods that may have been produced using forced labor in China’s Xinjiang region."

Some member here and me too, once suggest China to utilize Uyghur workers to help in Rare Earth production, and made it known publicly, let them sanction the China's rare earth.... good thing so save some very precious elements among the REE instead of keeping on exchanging them with the Fed's digital confetti. At least reducing their export!
