Xi Jinping, the ruler of China, suffers from several internal inconsistencies which greatly reduce the cohesion and effectiveness of his leadership. There is a conflict between his beliefs and his actions and between his public declarations of wanting to make China a superpower and his behavior as a domestic ruler. These internal contradictions have revealed themselves in the context of the growing conflict between the U.S. and China.

At the heart of this conflict is the reality that the two nations represent systems of governance that are diametrically opposed. The U.S. stands for a democratic, open society in which the role of the government is to protect the freedom of the individual. Mr. Xi believes Mao Zedong invented a superior form of organization, which he is carrying on: a totalitarian closed society in which the individual is subordinated to the one-party state. It is superior, in this view, because it is more disciplined, stronger and therefore bound to prevail in a contest.

Relations between China and the U.S. are rapidly deteriorating and may lead to war. Mr. Xi has made clear that he intends to take possession of Taiwan within the next decade, and he is increasing China’s military capacity accordingly.

He also faces an important domestic hurdle in 2022, when he intends to break the established system of succession to remain president for life. He feels that he needs at least another decade to concentrate the power of the one-party state and its military in his own hands. He knows that his plan has many enemies and he wants to make sure they won’t have the capacity to resist him.

It is against this backdrop that the current turmoil in the financial markets is unfolding, catching many people off guard and puzzling them. The confusion compounded the agitation.
I used to be indifferent to Mr.Soros because of his childhood and what have you but I'll be damned to listen to what this f..ng monkey says about China and to the current leader in Pres. Xi Jinping. Soros hates the man because Pres.Xi isn't corruptible and susceptible to American financial bullshit that Soros and his company would have managed against a different Chinese official.

One, the moron 张哲瀚 visited Yakusuni Shrine and took some happy pictures. Second, he attended his one quarter Jap friend’s wedding at

, who is well known for her anti-China viewpoints.
Zhang visited the shrine multiple times. I seriously doubt he didn't know the meaning of the shrine.
Thanks for all the info.

When this blew up in weibo I was confused. Never heard of this guy. Apparently he is very popular up and coming actor. At first I thought it might be misunderstanding. He could be curious and visited the vile shrine to learn first hand about the evil stuff inside. Boggles the mind when I learn later he taking pics like a tourist. Even more unbelievable he is born and raised in China mainland. Even for overseas born Chinese like me I know about the yakusuni shrine.
Intriguingly his boss is vicki zhao Wei. She herself in the past has that notorious incident of wearing a dress with Japan imperialist flag on it.

About the wedding, did he know about he anti china guest speaker before hand or the history of the shrine it took place in? I mean some people accused him of being Japanese wannabe or pro Japan imperialism or something. Could this be just a case of ignorance? Afterall people mentioned that the bride is Chinese and the groom is three quarters Chinese. They are pretty much his Chinese friends based in Japan. And he was there as invited guest of his friends? Or am I missing something and he is well aware of the political nature of the wedding?

A man who can't be corrupted with Capital is the nightmare of the West. This is why Xi is the most hated Chinese Leader of all time (after Mao) in the West and is the target of constant propaganda.
If you notice 90% of the Western op-eds mention how Xi is weakening China, CPC, economy, Uiguyrs. The focus is more on Xi & less on the party. The reason is simple, the West has no issues with CPC as long as it bows down to the Western Capitalists. This is an indirect call from them to the Pro-West faction within the CPC to take control.

If Xi is indeed weakening China, that would be beneficial for them right? Why the trade war and military encirclement?

If true that the friend getting married was Chinese, then that's madness. Sometimes people who obtained too much wealth too soon can get carried away. Zhang Zhehan is probably one of those terrible examples.

The thing about many of the rich and elite people. They tend to create and mingle within an exclusive class of their own. Their circle of friends tend to be from the same society. They tend to marry amongst each other. This can breed arrogance, and a lack of empathy for the common folk. This happens to any elite societies around the world. Though not all rich and elite people are like that, many tend to fall into that same trap.

It is a good thing that China has a government and society that will not allow the rich and elites to do what ever the want. I just wish we had at least 10% of that here in Malaysia. Because here in Malaysia, the rich and elites can get away with murder. I mean it literally.
The rich and elites get away with murder in all capitalistic and morally decaying societies. US is the prime example

Don't think it matters. Yakusuni shrine is off limit and ignorance wouldn't make a difference. Not many people can have a wedding at Nogi Shrine or choose to have a wedding at Nogi Shrine. Many Japanese celebrities would avoid both Nogi and Yakusuni Shrine due to the controversy. Having a wedding at Nogi Shrine means the groom at least is right wing Japanese.

In addition, Zhang has visited the Yakusuni shrine three times. Not one but three times, why would anyone visit a shrine for three times. I think the answer is quite clearly and it isn't ignorance. Zhang Zhehan clearly knew what he was doing.
