This is embarrassing. There is nothing in here that demonstrates proper CQC tactics. Sliding around like it's CoD is embarrassing. They aren't even clearing the room properly.

There are too many training videos like this and if this is how they really train, then I've really lost a lot of respect for the Chinese military. I've seen professional videos from China but why don't we get more of that??
Grow up. This one comes from the "most powerful military on the planet!", are you going to lose respect for them too just from watching videos?

As much as everyone made noise about the 10th mountain vid (and deservedly so), the state of the average equivalent PLA/PAP unit is significantly worse. When it comes to muzzle awareness even many "elite" units are absolutely atrocious. Just look at that one vid of (former) 38th GA SOF doing VBSS. Or that infamous recent clip of 15th Airborne SOF. It's so bad that a certain tactical instructor discussed here actually offered free muzzle discipline courses. And in the end, why should perceived incompetence of an opponent justify the incompetence of your own? Shitty tactics are still going to get people killed needlessly and jeopardize mission success.

My point is that instead of making blanket assumptions, videos like these should be used as training aids in what to do/not to do.

Just like the PLA hasn't fought a conventional war in a long time, the US military hasn't fought against a peer opponent in a long time either. That is why it is important for both sides to constantly train, to make these mistakes in training and correct them so they don't happen in actual combat.

For the US that might be the case seeing as the video went viral and the shown unit from 10th mountain has been said to have received remedial training. But for the PLA I'm a lot more pessimistic as the footage was displayed on state TV as a unit "innovating" new tactics to presumably prepare for a Taiwan contingency. Hope they at least get to learn from something lower intensity and less important before the big one comes...

If the PLA reaches the stage where they have to clear rooms with infantry on Taiwan island then it would mean that the war is already almost over…

Do you have links to these two videos?

Get over it. China will keep innovating, will keep learning and will keep developing.

The pistol holster has been seen before, but the additional pouches have not. They look like they might hold pistol magazines.
