According to QBU191 on Weibo, Chairman Do went to Chengdu today. If this is true, then this is a real solid evidence that J20 is now in its final mode. By the way, anyone got a new picture of he engine? Many people said that they have seen the picture, but I literally can't find it anywhere
@91Mr.Liu bro will there be any changes physically like the removal of the ventral fin?

I suspect the engine bay on existing J20 are already adopted for WS15. Bulkhead forgings are major structural components. I doubt they would have made special forgings fir just a temporary engine.

If j20 uses raptor style pitch only thrust vectoring nozzle with a rectangular cross section, would require a rectangukar contour to the end of the ventral engine bulges on the J20 to integrate.

but of the J20’s engine ventral fairing is round.

So this suggest axial symmetric nozzle.

So not y22 style pitch only nozzle.

also, i believe F22 style nozzles are extremely heavy. it may overemphasize stealth, so when taken together with the nozzle, F119 engine underperform previous generation F100 engine in thrust weight ratio

First flight is a success. If you want the source I can send it via private chat. No photos, just posted rumor for now.

Another post seems to imply that they may officially release info on July 1st CCP centennial commemoration.
The rumor I heard is this flight is with both engines are new. The single new engine setup with old engine in other side was tested already awhile back.

Don't ask me for evidence, heard it from some family in chengdu
