Seriously, don't know why China isn't publishing statistics on how many shots broken down by first shots and second shots. Every country is doing it. I thought Sinopharm and Sinovac were single shots but apparently they are double shots. This info shouldn't be hard to collect too.

China publishes how many doses administer each day without breaking down how many people have fully vaccinated. However, it does ocassionally release the total number of people who receive at least one dose. Just a few days ago, Chinese official mentions that over 600 million people receive at least one dose.

As for the reason why China doesn't break down the number, China has many different vaccines. Sinopharm(2), Sinovac, and Shenzhen Kangtai all are two doses inactivated vaccines, CanSino is one dose viral vector vaccine, and Zhifei is three doses subunit vaccine. In the end of the day, it is difficult to keep track of how many people who got fully vaccinated until much later.

That's what I heard on a youtube channel which from the look and sound of it (A.I. voice) should be from a Chinese source. I won't say which channel exactly but so far I have found that the info that has come out of it is factual enough. It referred to the ethnic Chinese of a certain South East Asian country but I assume it would apply to ethnic Chinese of most South East Asian countries as well.

I have come cross some of such youtube posts with machine voices (all of them being female, nothing worth noting but just observation). All my experiences with them (about 5) are that they are all sensational, exaggerating and sometimes outright lies. They mostly (in my examples) are extremely "pro-China" to the same point of like Trumpsters. So now I skip them the first second I heard a machine voice of a video. The reason that I use quotation marks is that I don't see them being really pro-China but rather damaging one way or the other.

Maybe the one you came across are different. I can't tell before I watch it. In any ways, I only believe a real person with a real face and voice quoting from a source that can be verified by other means. That is accountability and credibility differing from fake news.

Besides the source. I'd like to comment on practicality also.

Unlike a foreign national who has a long term residency in China therefor having a medical insurance in China, a foreigner of Chinese decent does not have such arrangement. Therefor only their home country is responsible for any treatment of side effect or death. If China give free doses to them and something happened afterwards, it gives a perfect weapon to the foreign country to attack China because China would be looking like luring foreigners to use Chinese vaccines. On the other hand, if there is a fee for it, it becomes totally commercial transaction between a doctor and a tourist without implicating China the state.

So I would rather believe that China giving free doses to foreign citizens who paid their medical cares and taxes in China than believing giving a foreign citizen just because he/she has some ethnic connection to China. It would be a very bad move IF China actually does it which I highly doubt because the reasons I presented.

I have my doubts about free vaccination in China for ethnic Chinese foreign citizens too. But I can believe if it's free for foreigners working there though.

Vaccines are not that expensive, who cares if it’s free or not. Especially if your a visitor who has shelled out for a multi thousand dollar plane ticket due to the pandemic.

.... but how can poor and backwards India report full vs. partial vaccination and not China? China probably didn't think about collecting it since it starting vaccination at low rates much earlier than other countries.

China does have the data. If not, it wouldn't have made an announcement that over 600 million people have already taken the first dose. However, China is prioritized the first dose right now so second and third dose have been delayed for many people. Therefore, it isn't reporting fully vaccinated number yet.

Taiwan is pressing on with its homegrown vaccine from Medigen Vaccine Biologics which claims to have completed phase 2 trials and are now asking for emergency approval for deployment before phase 3. According to Radio Taiwan International, they hope to start vaccinations in July and produce 10 million doses by year end.

Having said this, there are persistent rumors on how certain highly connected politicians own large stakes in Medigen, whose shots are expected to cost much more than a comparable AZ one.

My guess is that the drive for a domestic vaccine has to do more with poorly though out desires for national prestige (like building outsized domestic submarines)
