TSMC just came out with a sub 1nm process prototype the other day, and few weeks before that IBM did a 1nm or was it 2nm process demo.... China mastering 28nm by end of next year is nothing to brag about.... it necessary, but its not catching up fast enough and could even be falling further behind... because of US continued sanctions etc...
At some point, even TSMC will hit the brick wall of quantum limitations. IBM's alleged 2 nm process is fake news: no part of it is 2 nm. Whether TSMC has a sub-nanometer process is also fake news, Taiwanese style: even if the process actually exists, it probably doesn't work.

In any case, TSMC will eventually hit the quantum limits. Which means mainland China will have time to catch up. The mainland has most of the world's semiconductor market, so when indigenous fabs catch up, external companies -- especially those that have violated their contracts, like TSMC -- will be locked out of the world's biggest semiconductor market. How will TSMC survive?

Besides, Taiwan's greatest ally, the USA, is forcing TSMC to spend $billions in the States. How will TSMC benefit from dropping all that cash unnecessarily? Taiwan's best friend, the USA, is obviously bleeding TSMC from another direction.

Netanyahu decries 'greatest election fraud'

On the verge of losing his record-long grip on power, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday lashed out at his perceived political opponents.

"We are witnessing the greatest election fraud in the history of the country, in my opinion in the history of any democracy."

His language, reminiscent of another world leader who recently faced the prospect of losing power.

"We had an election that was stolen from us.

It mirrors the rhetoric of former U.S. President Donald Trump, who falsely claims that his 2020 election defeat was the result of fraud.

“This was a fraudulent election.”

Those claims sparked a deadly assault by Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol to try to stop Congress from certifying his election loss.

And now fears of political violence are bubbling up in Israel.

Netanyahu’s claims of fraud come just a day after Israel’s chief of domestic security issued a rare warning of possible political violence in that country.

Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman called on political and religious leaders to tone down potential incitement.

Netanyahu is facing the prospect of an end to his 12-year run as premier after Israel's opposition leader, Yair Lapid, announced last week that he had succeeded in forming a governing coalition.

The centrist cobbled together an unwieldy array of factions stretching from ultra-nationalist to leftist and even, for the first time in Israel's history, an Arab Islamist party.

But Lapid's proposed government has yet to be sworn in, and could still unravel before it begins.

It will require a simple majority vote in the 120-member Knesset, but that could be more than a week away.

Netanyahu has been whipping up outrage at the man expected to replace him as prime minister: Naftali Bennett.

Bennett leads an ultra-nationalist party, and he broke his campaign pledge not to join a coalition with Lapid and left-wing and Arab parties.

Netanyahu called on Bennett's party members to reject what he's called "a dangerous leftist government."

Ex-Politician and Catholic Priest Sentenced to 19 Years for Child Exploitation

June 5, 2021

CABRAMATTA, Australia—It took Judge James Bennett more than one full workday to deliver the sentence as he methodically recounted the absolutely disgusting and grotesque details of the former ex-Sydney Labor Party figure, former lawyer, and Catholic priest’s four years of abuse.

According to

, Judge Bennett actually read out the perverted exchanges Hansen had on an encrypted service with a man named “Mailboy Hornbag.” During this exchange, Hansen rated their images and complained about the prices for meeting up with kids.

Numerous messages about Hansen’s cover as a “businessman” meant his frequent trips overseas wouldn’t be seen as “suspicious,” were highlighted. He also mentioned how he was going to “keep the camera busy” during his next session with underage boys.

“I am still thinking how I can milk the max out of my poolside weekend,”
he wrote.

Hansen would organize multiple boys to be sent to his hotel rooms during his stay, shower them with cheap gifts, let them swim in the pool before taking them to his room to photograph and perform sex acts with them, according to

.

“He traveled to other lands … to exploit children in limited economic circumstances to whom he gave modest rewards,” Judge Bennett said.
“There was planning, organization, and sophistication employed by the offender … in the arrangement to have these children in places to be exploited. He did not act alone, as is clear by the agreed statement of facts. There was a network but at a limited extent.”

Peter Andrew Hansen was sentenced to 19 years in prison, with a 14-year non-parole period, on Friday, June 4 after pleading guilty to 31 charges, including several counts of sexual intercourse with a child outside Australia and producing child abuse material, reports

The 63-year-old was arrested and paraded through Sydney Airport in handcuffs back in October 2018 after authorities were tipped off about his “activities” in Vietnam and the Philippines.

According to the NSW District Court, Hansen paid to meet boys, took disturbing pictures and made videos, and performed sex acts on nine children aged 10 to 14 between 2014 and 2018.
With time served, Hansen will be eligible for parole in October 2032.
Off topic.

This is unfortunately not uncommon news here. I see this kind of pedo news regarding aussies in relatively poor Asian countries pop up every now and then.

american propaganda has officially degenerated to jai hind level lmao
I lost many brain cells by just reading this

Some of the gems that i found in the article

"The United States will then ask its allies and friends to take sides and they will. Germany will sell fewer cars in China and France fewer luxury goods. American trade with China will decrease as well and Americans will find fewer “Made in China” goods at Walmart."

This is hilarious, so germany and france will willingly sacrifice their export livelihoods at the altar of the anglos, and what will they get in return?
Without cheap Chinese made goods at walmart, your poor and desperate will burn down your cities like atlanta, have you not learned your lessons?

"China is the USSR of today. China’s ambitions are as unacceptable as were those of Communist Russia in an earlier day and must be thwarted if the world as we know it is to survive. The Cold War with the USSR was won without resorting to war and we must accomplish it again this time."

YOU are the ussr of today, China spends only 1.3% of gdp on defence compared to 3.7% of us, it is the us who will likely spends itself to bankruptcy

"We won the Cold War with the USSR, and we should be able to win this one as well… and in much the same way. Communist China will fail in its global ambitions after it first fails at home because communism is a failed ideology. The Soviet Union collapsed because the regime did not meet its peoples’ aspirations of political freedom and economic prosperity."

Lol the us is already lost if it thinks that China practice communism the way ussr was, China undoubtly practice better capitalism than the americans

I swear the American media is both a blessing and a curse. Sure the deep state can control the people in one direction but this has a propensity to stuffing up at the worst possible time because they have effectively killed off the ability to respond to sudden changes to the script as well has dumb down the people so much that they are impossible to lead. Have they ever considered the words of an objective professional rather then the worlds of a racist brat that simply got lucky more then once and can talk smooth. Because the last odd number of presidents are exactly these kind of people no matter how much polish they might have had

That was like reading a whiny redditor trying to convince himself that he was still winning.

Small wonder the US is in such decline.

Elected representatives across Europe and North America call for governments to decline invitations to next February’s games
Elected representatives across Europe and North America call for governments to decline invitations to next February’s games

Do it! This would finally finish any US Western-phile leaning people In the CPC. There are still some annoying bugs in the CPC and in the business world who are like "If only we could be friends with the US", now this will be transformed to the entire West.

Do it! This Western slap on China's "face" would be a shock to the many unaware Chinese about the West.

Lets see if they got the guts to antagonise China so much that it decided to throw caution to the wind and supercharges its R&D efforts on a true "whole-of-society" approach

Bet you a $100 that the West wont do anything. If they got any brains, they will realise that after such a public "humiliation" the Chinese would have their own "Sputnik" moment and collectively decide that its time to fight on an unprecedented campaign against the West

I don't really think it will be a 'humiliation' for the Chinese at all. The Chinese have gone past this, and will view this as affirmation of the 'pettiness' in the West. The magnificent facilities will be ready, come rain and shine. It is the West that will be divided on whether to attend because this is really punishing its own athletes and winter sport fans. Pity those athletes that have been working very hard for their Olympic glories.

You are right, no "humiliation" (note the quotes..), I would say a slap to the face though. It would wake up many normal Chinese people who are still used to the old times.

Thus it would create a true "whole-of-society" effort to strike back in whatever way. Innovation, decoupling, R&D etc

People often ignore how important is the people's belief on a matter. If the people suddenly coalesced around one belief that its time for China to throw the West out, then something magical would happen

This is IMO the single most important thing. Lets see if the West has the guts to provoke such a reaction. Doubt
