Anyway the point is that Americans live in way too big houses that are environmentally unfriendly.

Nah...Americans live in way too big and expensive houses that their credit card couldn't afford, only to see it get foreclosed. Than some mainlanders will scoop it up for less to save American banks for making such risky lending in the first place.

If that's the case, it much ado about nothing in the case of China. China's figure is significantly higher than Korea/Japan and slightly below US/UK.
Come on, babysitters and domestic workers as jobs of the future ? As youngsters of China get more educated and are fulfilling their dreams, how many want to be domestic workers and babysitters?

I'll be more worried about whether the earth can really cope with population increase given the limited earth resources, particularly water. Already those countries are not even developed yet, and have become democratic. With democracy, it is all about talks and getting votes, very little how to deal with the future given the more limited resources per capita.

The good news is that population growth is continuing to slow across the world and all indications are that the global population will eventually crest and then likely decline. Africa is the last real engine of population growth left.

The bad news is that this crest and decline in the human population will not happen nearly soon or rapidly enough to avoid widespread ecological devastation.

Plus, the Chinese are currently watching the absolute s**tstorm of a situation in multicultural countries like the US
Don't be racist. There is no shitstorm. California and Texas are both minority-majority states where Hispanics outnumber whites and both states have higher GDPPCs than the United States as a whole.

Just playing around with the WPP2019 tables....

Between 2020 and 2070, the world is projected to experience a net gain of 2664m people. Major regional contributors to this result:

Sub-Saharan Africa: +1772m
South Asia: +496m
North Africa and West Asia: +329m

South East Asia: +130m
Latin America: +103m
North America: +86m

Europe: -81m
East Asia: -233m

UN World Population Prospects 2019 ed. total fertility rate (TFR*) estimates for 2015-2020 period, selected countries:

Nigeria: 5.42
India: 2.24
Russia: 1.82
USA: 1.78
UK: 1.75
China: 1.69
Germany: 1.59
Japan: 1.37
Republic of Korea: 1.11

* The average number of live births a hypothetical cohort of women would have at the end of their reproductive period if they were subject during their whole lives to the fertility rates of a given period and if they were not subject to mortality. It is expressed as live births per woman.
Bullshit China's number.

Oh really? Currently there is a significant uptick of anti-Asian hate crimes and the massive BLM movement that rocked the country due to a series of shootings of black Americans by white officers. Plus, there is an increasing number of reports of Chinese and Chinese American scientists being investigated by US authorities. As for your comment about Texas and California, that is true economically speaking, but the sheer amount of hate by white conservatives towards the fact that California is minority majority and Texas becoming that is huge. Despite all of that, I haven’t even scraped the surface in regards to the racial and multicultural tensions within the US nor talked about the other Western nations. I’m not being racist at all. I’m just being realistic. You have to live in a bubble in order to really believe that America is a multicultural paradise.

Your taking edge cases (police shootings/hate crimes) and trying to apply it to the United States as a whole? Conservatives hate California because it delivers large margins to Democrats, there is no similar hate for Texas or Florida which are either minority-majority (Texas) or edging close (Florida). And no, let's be serious here. You think multiculturalism is bad for power because of destabilizing social trends. That's not happening. Los Angeles, San Francisco/San Jose, Miami, Houston, Dallas, New York City and Atlanta are all multicultural and function *very* well with very high GDPPCs.

Are you kidding me with those examples? The fact you brought those up just shows your ignorance and a hint to your real colors. What I mentioned are only the beginning and people are getting worried. I would give the US about ten years, before things start to really get bad. Until then, let’s wait and see if your supposed paradise will hold up.

LA functions very well? I live here and am in the process of moving because it is ANARCHY. Don't know what delusional bubble you live in but without trying to show off let me just tell you, the very wealthiest neighborhoods here are not safe and I've seen multiple houses burglarized on one of the wealthiest streets on the planet. When the police came and details were given they never followed up. So yea, much ado about nothing right?

Impoverished villages in rural China are safer than this shithole, and I'm not exaggerating. Any benefits these major cities have gotten that makes them so wealthy are grandfathered in from the accumulation of wealth and infrastructure that was built decades ago. It's all decline from here on out.

I have lived in some of those other cities you listed and many family and friends have too, and let me tell you it's not nearly as rosy as you're making it out to be.
