Seems like more confusing and contradictory disinformation regarding these medical raw materials needed to make vaccines. Didn't the US want to cut dependency on China for these very medical raw materials? So how is the US denying them when they get at least some of them from China? What vaccines are they talking about since Moderna and Pfizer is only made in the US. If they're for someone else's vaccines, why do they need raw materials from the US in the first place?

Can I just say that with the whole India situation and with the US banning exports of raw materials to them to make vaccines that China is getting a massive free diplomatic win.

Here is Xi message for so many years on how China would behave internationally as a Great Power

“Common but differentiated responsibilities”
"Community with shared future for mankind"

Xi is winning big right. The whole world can witness first hand the differences between the US-led values and Chinese values.

I am sure that India would appreciate if the Chinese values were dominant right now

As a great great man once said "It is what it is"...

How did India end up this way with the high death/hospilization? They seem to be doing well. I remember even talking to a friendly Indian person in the park a few months back and he even joked that maybe Indians immune system is used to all the germs. Is there a new mutant arising?

I would bet money that the Indian variant is more deadly than the ‘vanilla’ variant that the world has been dealing with previously. That was always the gamble and danger with perusing a herd immunity strategy based on uncontrolled wild spread of the live virus - that it will mutate into more infectious and/or deadly forms.

The timing of its emergence is also massively worrisome because it comes just as many countries are starting to roll back and relax Covid restrictions due to increasing vaccine numbers.

So really we could be looking at a perfect storm of the world being lured into a false sense of security from vaccinations based on vaccines that may no longer be effective against the new Indian variant; combined with the fake news and false information pandemic; that will hit health services already massively strained and operating at peak capacity for prolonged periods; together with a population completely fed up with lock downs and desperate for a return to normality and maybe you can see why I am massively worried that this will mirror past pandemics and deliver the much feared second wave peak of massively increased deaths worldwide compared to the first wave.

And I don’t think I am alone. I have heard from relatives that China is ramping up its own domestic vaccination efforts, so it may not surprise me if even Chinese vaccine supplies start to disappear off the world market as China start to prepare its own population for this new Indian variant.

If new variants that are resistant to the current vaccines start showing up then the whole world is in deep poo.

This is why I think mRNA tech is so important. You can immediately change the vaccine "code" and start manufacturing the new vaccine targeting the variants next day

I cant emphasize enough how important it is for China to have their own mRNA vaccines production ready to go. China should throw money around to accelerate (if possible) its own mRNA development and phase trials. This is super important

Also, maybe India should stop with their ego and accept help from China. It is in the world's interest that India's situation is brought under control.

One way to find out is to let an international health experts, led by China, Russia, Pakistan, Serbia along with the W.H.O. to investigate the rise and origin of this new Indian covid-19 strain, not to mention the possible criminal negligence of corrupt Indian democratic Jai Hind politicians that has placed pageantry a.k.a. elections above the need and heath of it's people. It's time the so-called Democratic country be held accountable by the world.
