Usually to allow for both double action and single action fire. As they have different effects on accuracy and rate of fire.
Don't forget about important safety feature that exposed hammer pistols have is that can be easily de-cocked unlike striker fired or internal hammer. One thing i noticed about all of these PLA pistol currently posted here is that most of them have an external safety switch. I don't know whether it's because they prefer it so much or possibly there were many safety concern like AD in the field. It could also be that internal safety design is currently too complex for them to make reliably. Maybe someone can explain.

Notice in one of the boxes, there is a container/sleeve labeled "QSP10". I wonder what that might be. It looks cylindrical. It could contain a silencer, maybe?

A close-up of the object in question:

Dual stack single feed? is there a good reason to do that aside from easier design?
It’s also generally the most reliable of double stack.
What is the point of this gun anyways? QSZ11 is good enough for officers and combat troops would go with a full size like QSZ92. Undercover police agents? To analyze the magazine size without knowing the usecase is pointless.

Maybe this is a special combat pistol for people that find QSZ92 too large, then the single stack is reasonable.
IMO the QSZ11 is fine for a Generals gun. A gun issued as a badge of status. But as a combat gun... the wooden grip is not an advantage the small capacity worse so. As a Sidearm it better for wear by Ceremonial guards or Generals in Dress uniforms than combat troops. For a combat gun I expect it to be stripped down. Which is what we see in QSZ193. Unless they are children or severely deformed or the grip has been bulked up the grip of a double stack pistol is such that the vast majority of adults can use it.
Farther look at what others posted
A clearer uncensored image of the new compact pistol, designation QSZ193. The magazine is single row and holds seven bullets. I hope they could change the magazine to a double-row in the future. It wouldn't be hard to do.

We have an accessory rails that the 11 lacks. And that looks like modular grip panels
QSZ193 9mm pistol
Specs: 9mm caliber, uses DAP92 or 92A 9mm pistol cartridge. Weight is less than or equal to 0.7 kg (with a empty mag). Overall length is less than or equal to 165mm. Effective range is 25m, can last for 6000 rounds fired, uses 7 round single stack magazine.
Here is a really tasty bit. 9mm not 5.8. When we add in CS/LS7 a gun that as far as I know only comes in 9x19mm. We might have a shift happening back from 5.8x21mm. Now QSZ92 always had a 9x19mm sibling.

Are QSZ193 replacing or complementing QSZ92? They did modify the QSZ92 to singel feed for reliability.

It seems most logical that combat troops are using a full sized QSZ92. A compact pistol is maybe for something else.

Another picture I found on Weibo.

Purpose: for close quarters self-defense, able to neutralize targets within 25 meters. Not yet in formal service, still currently in limited trials.
The data sheet states that it is fed from a double stacked, single fed magazine.

A combat pistol is the weapon of last resort. I would trade off comfort for ammo capacity any day. You are not support to sit around and try to get a perfect grip with your custom stipple job Gucci Glock (Agency/ZEV).

A combat pistol is a weapon of last resort true, but when you need it you need it often more of it than you expect. Most Modern combat pistols used in military service have at least 15 rounds. Because under stress of use it’s expected that the shooter will be a bit wild. Small capacity handguns like this are supplementary weapons not used in combat but rear positions. Either by Provost or General officer and staff where your comfort argument makes sense.
