No. You are just showing your age. Either that or your googling skills. Lol
OT but still...

It was the Mid 80's and dad and us kids were staying in this Hotel in Auckland after arriving back from San Francisco. Across the road from the hotel was this fairly recently opened up Chinese restaurant called the Hong Kong Kitchen. It was the first genuine HK style yum cha catering for 300 odd people at each sitting plus a similar amount of people waiting outside, I kid you not. It was the first HK style yum cha place in Auckland if not NZ. When I went back to Auckland yrs later, it had closed.

It has changed dramatically over the last 25yrs or so as NZ opened up its pool of immigrant countries whose people introduced their culinary preferences to the country During the late 60's most of the immigrants came from the UK and with a smaller percentage of Europeans and a smaller number of Asians under the family reunification schemes.

Restaurant meals consisted of Steak and chips with some vegetables. Mum and Pop Asian restaurants mainly consisted of various forms of chop suey and long and short soup. The HK kitchen restaurant yum cha concept that I experienced was totally new to NZ in the mid 80's. Even those restaurants have evolved with many offering food of a mainland slant and there are small eateries offering all styles of asian/chinese cooking. We are really spoilt for choices now.
You are wrong!!!, almost everything is available in NZ .... have you been to NZ? ... or just your imagination from nothing
Hold on Dolcevita was not offering an opinion

Thank you B.I.B. Good to know. I like to try the local cuisine but also good to know that I have choices when needed. I do not want to be stuck with a choice of General Tso's Chicken or Teriyaki Chicken or Cold Ramen. LOL.

@antiterror Relax. I was just asking in case I get a chance to visit. I like my food and this is a consideration when i visit.

Notice the regressive pattern of BBC reporting. They started with "oppression", then "concentration camps", then "systemic rape" and now finally "genocide".

Also look at this Cold war era stunt . Feel bad for those who interacted with China in good faith & will now be labeled as spies.

Its pretty clear what the 5 eyes are attempting to do. They want war. But currently there isnt an appetite for war in the West esp with China.
By constantly bombarding the Uygur genocide narrative across all platforms , they're trying to make it as mainstream as the Holocaust. Once they successfully paint China as the big bad guy on par with Nazi Germany, they'll go for war.

Just want to post this article to say good things don't make headlines but conspiracy theories and negative stuffs do. Just like a few months back when policemen failed to rescue that young woman from suicide. This time nobody cares.

Jingjiang 38-year-old auxiliary police jumped into the river to save lives, unfortunately died on duty

According to sources, at about 2:30 am on February 7, the Gushan Police Station in Jingjiang received an alarm threatening to commit suicide by jumping into the river. After receiving the report, the policeman on duty at the Gushan Police Station quickly led two auxiliary policemen out of the police station.

During the rescue process, the person involved exhibited certain mood swings and jumped into the river from the local Wenchang Bridge in Wangzhuang Village. The police immediately organized rescue. During the rescue, Qian Wei, the assistant policeman, died in the line of duty due to exhaustion.

After Comrade Qian Wei died on duty, the main leaders of the Jingjiang Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government all gave important instructions and expressed condolences and condolences to Comrade Qian Wei's family members, requesting to do a good job in the aftermath, condolences, and compensation.

They don’t have stomach for a real war. They’re just trying to stop the EU-China investment deal.
