Well too bad for Joseph Zen. He is Hong Kong, China. A country were theocracy never reigns supreme. Personally, I think disgusting characters like him should be in jail. Or he should move his services to the USA. That's a place for Christian lunatics like him.
I have a special disgust for religious zealots. No matter how high ranking they are. Most of these fools derive their power from phony religious mythology. I have seen and met enough scam Pastors, Taoist cheats, FLG lunatics, and Medieval Imams. These people do not deserve the influence they always get. But these kinds of people always lead their followers to commit unspeakable madness and horror.
I think he was the highest rank Catholic in Hong Kong. He has so much influence over all the Catholics in Hong Kong. And their schools. And these religious schools are a hotbed of radicalisation.
My 'God'! The rot runs really deep in Hong Kong. This cancer needs to be controlled now. Lest it festers and metastasize.
Just like the other cancer of the Sinophobic school teachers. This is just as urgent a problem. Because it can influence and radicalize people of all ages. And religion always wins support from overseas.
So far I have not heard much of any plans to crackdown on these religious fundamentalists. Which is quite disappointing. Joshua Wong and his parents are disgusting Christian zealots. That is the level of danger Hong Kong is facing now.

This might surprise you. But Hong Kong Christians only made up to about 12% of the population. That's about 1 in 8 people. A sizeable populace, but still a minority never the less.
Yet, through their influence and through their indoctrination of the school system. They have a proportionately larger influence than their 12% suggest.
The "pan democrats" leaders like Joshua Wong, Jimmy Lai. Claudia Mao. Martin Lee (son of KMT general). Emily Lau (parents escaped to Hong Kong after CCP China won the civil war) are all Christians and most have an AXE to grind with CCP China. Even the "long hair" Leung attended the British school where union Jack is flying over the school and British national anthem played daily.
These are now the most prominent fervent anti-China politicians in Hong Kong.
You have no clue about Canadian extradition laws. The Federal Justice Minister has the ultimate say on whether to extradite, after all the drama in the courts.
When they get sent to prison for treason/terrorism, they (and western media) will scream Christian persecution and genocide!!!!

This definitely makes sense. I didn't know Jimmy Lai, Martin Lee, and Claudia Mao were Christians. But it does not surprise me. Christian fanatics are always on a crusade against the CCP and mainland China. Good to know this nevertheless. It makes me despise them even more.
It's also no surprise that a minority HK Christian population can wield so much power and influence. It is the nature of Abrahamic religions. They are fear-based and easy to use to influence the uneducated. Besides, classic Western support surely gives it a big boost.
Those who know the real Chinese history, (not the Western BS that Chinese history started in 1949) knows how much damage Christian fundamentalism had caused on China. The Taiping rebellion is the best example. Christian fanatism is no longer a threat in mainland China. But its a real danger on HK. It already had its hands all over the troubles that HK is facing today.
The HKSAR have started rounding up the traitors. But would they take the politically ugly step to start cracking down on the corrupt Christianity system in HK? I'm not sure that they will.

Lets deviate and give you a graphic picture and history regarding the Catholic church of the Philippine.
The first victory against a foreigner invaders was achieved by Lapu Lapu at the battle of Mactan, were he killed Magellan and his landing forces of 80 soldiers, after that the Spaniard return and this time with a lot of religious missionary . Religion is use to colonize the native and from there use Manila as their base of expedition to the rest of the archipelago, cause how on earth a mere 300 soldiers colonized the whole Philippine.
That's the reason the Catholic church hold such influence in our daily life, they had tasted power and won't relinquish it without a fight. They are the richest institution in the Philippine, they collect a lot of donation (private and from the state
), charge a lot for burial, marriage and baptismal all tax free and they spend it among themselves (the bishop and cardinals) , there is a lot of rumors of Priest homosexual, pedophilia and having wives all against their religious teaching but they were swept under the rags, that's how powerful they become cause its blasphemous to report and punished them. That's why we remain poor, any reform effort are being block by the Church, I mean who elected them to make such decision, A great example is Family Planning and Population control. They are against it cause less people mean less donation, that's how greedy they become.
