So the comparison is not about which country has the support of its citizens, but rather how well can the military in the front line be supplied... and in this case, replying on local villagers is just kind of sad. I know that the PLA was supplied in this exact manner during the Chinese Civil War, but China back then was not industrialized at all, and that was the only way possible (to have hundreds of thousands of local villagers sending supplies to the Florentine in small carts and cattle). But India today still rely on local villagers to carry up some of the supplies, it really is nothing to be proud off.... Unless they can beat China with the villagers as their supply line...

Yes have local support is always a plus point. The PLA won the unequal struggle on the back of enormous support of it's people. One wouldn't want to argue with that.

But I think here the context slightly different. It is really to contrast the backwardness of India's logistics. Not necessary on the use of "locals".

The use of these "locals" was stated by Indian nationalists as to why they are using "locals" to resupply their troops. The message was they are providing work for the local Tibetans, and in any case these local Tibetans are glad to do it because they hated the Chinese for "occupying their land".

Of course , hide away the real reasons for using the "locals" is because their logistics are lacking to say the least.

So to hide their deficiencies, the nationalists dreamt up this using local to help their economy and help them get back at the Chinese. The propaganda is strong with the Indians.

Indian nationalists that join SDF to defend India/attack China, I understand their mentality...

It's like me in early 2000's defending China in American-centric forums, notorious US-China flame wars....

But I never cited InfoWars or Breitbart equivalents, never outright LIED, and never literally make up stuff like Indian nationalists.

So Indian nationalists have a chip on their shoulder, and nothing to back it up, except loud mouths and vivid imagination/delusions.

So long as you don't take it personally, it makes for VERY fun entertainment. :)

We can clearly see here that China's perception of the LAC is the red dotted line, which it had RETREATED to voluntarily at the conclusion of the 1962 Sino Indian war. From China's point of view, the basis for any legitimate LAC has to be based on the 1962 war.

India's perception of the LAC at Pangong Lake is until Finger 8, which the above map shows to be India's claim line based on the Johnson line of 1865. Thus, not based on the 1962 war. India's only real argument for Finger 8 is because China had allowed India to conduct patrols without hindrance up to Finger 8 until this year.

As you can see, China's current perception of the LAC, which it has been vehemently protective of, is based on the positions that PLA had held at the end of 1962 war. Whereas India is claiming up to Finger 8, and other areas beyond it. A quick look at google maps illustrates why this is the case. As indicated on the map above, at Finger 8, there is a chokepoint on the lake itself, which opens up to the eastern half of the lake, at the end of which China's G219 highway runs parallel to.

According to Indians, their soldiers can survive in the cold winter better than PLA soldiers.

Beijing
Tension in the high altitude areas of Ladakh has intensified over time over the past four months. The Indian army is constantly fighting gasoline to gain an advantage over China in this inaccessible area. From the beginning of September, the cold started to increase in this region, but to keep an eye on the harmful activities of China, the Indian army will maintain the occupation of high military bases. This tension will continue over the next few months, experts say, so the Indian military is also gathering the necessary equipment to keep its army safe.

Siachen experience near India
The Indian army will use several types of equipment to withstand the fierce cold of Ladakh. Most of these goods have already been used by Indian troops on the world’s highest battlefield like Siachen. In such a situation, how long the Chinese army will last before the Indian army will be a question to be seen. China’s Foreign Ministry has already spoken of withdrawing its military in cold weather. He fears that if his novice soldiers stay in such cold, they will not die before the bullet from India but before the weather strikes there.

The Arctic tent will protect you from the cold
The Indian army will need arctic tents to survive the cold at such a height. This tent can also withstand temperatures down to -50 degrees. Strong winds that run at high altitudes also have no effect on these tents. These tents made of material called Vepex have no outdoor rain or snow effect. Its design is such that people living inside have no problem breathing.
The space heater will heat the tent
This device is used to keep a small place warm in cold weather. The Indian army can use this device to ward off the cold of Ladakh. This will help heat the tent. It produces heat from natural gas, propane, kerosene or electricity. They also present a risk of carbon monoxide formation. To overcome this, the camp needs to be open for a while from time to time.
The thermal imager will keep an eye out for enemies
The military can also use a thermal imager to monitor the movement of enemies in the dark of night. It gives information based on the heat coming out of the body. When there is an enemy like China, it is also important to have high tech weapons. There are many types of specialties. During the day, it can also act as a camera. Videos and photos can also be taken from this. Its range is approximately 5 kilometers.
China will not escape the anti-materiel rifle
At such an altitude, there are numerous complaints of rifle jamming in cold weather. In such a situation, an anti-materiel rifle will come in handy for targeting the enemy from afar, day or night. Its range is 1000 meters to 2000 meters. It can shoot 12.7mm bullets. Due to the night site being installed, these rifles can also be accurately targeted at night.

Waw, they have invented " anti-materiel rifle ", really outstanding, and I Think next there will be plasma cannon and anti materiel bomb.
Facing this alien technology , can PLA withstand ?

"Beginning in early May, Chinese forces advanced south of the Line of Actual Control, the temporary border between the two giants, principally in three separate areas in Ladakh, high in the Himalayas.“

This guy REALLY takes a bird's eye view of things. China - North, India - South. Thus, crossing the border must be south.

Gordan Chang should go back to bashing China in economics ... at least his arguments are somewhat more convincing than his non-existent military analysis lmao. Does this guy even know where Ladakh is?
