Littoral Combat Ships (LCS)

Ok guys its official Per USNI The navy Has chosen Fremm for FFGX a excellent design ...
noticed this great comment under the USNI News:
Right now FFG(X) is at the point of program development where everyone loves - they can look at all the glossy brochures, optimistic timelines, and low advertised price and talk about how great it is. Once steel starts being cut and reality hits, I suspect the arguing is going to start back up.

...

I'll jump in here:
  1. possibly OHP hull (or enlarged, but 4500 max.)
  2. possibly COGLAG propulsion (relatively quiet; but 35 knots max.)
  3. AEGIS Lite, one illuminator
  4. 16-cells VLS: 8 AAMs, 8 ASROCs (so that during a ASW mission the ship wouldn't rely on a helo to kill a sub, heck)
  5. organic helicopter, hangar; the outer, inner spaces arranged for:
  6. Harpoon launchers optionally from one dual to two quads,
  7. torpedo tubes optionally from one single up to two triple,
  8. assault boats (optionally small or big?)
  9. enough anti-FAC protection
I know this would've required a big crew ...

Armament is increased to 32 Mk41+ 8 NSM,
Thats quite an upgrade from LCS, and quite a nice punch from a Fremm class.

Also, they've stuck to the initial requirements without any change..

Other than the inability to carry 11m rhib( which could've allowed it to carry a fleet class usw), i don't think it lacks much.
Not sure if its actually going to be 150kw class or 60kw class laser just yet.

Well just saw a utube video showing a up graded Freedom class and yes it does have a 8 cell VLS forward of the searam position also a laser system the video states these upgrades are in the pipeline for 2023 install and a 2026 deployment fleetwide WE Shall See about that
