@Mohsin77 I'd like to ask you why Pakistan initially rejected the Z-10 and still hasn't expressed interest in it to this day. I understand that there were rumours that the initial variants had weak (~900kW) engines. The most recent confirmation on the WZ-9's power is ~1100kW since 2016, and I imagine that the most recent variants of the helicopter (Z-10ME, and the ones in PLA service with upturned exhausts) have bumped that up to ~1200kW. Engine power is clearly no longer an issue. Meanwhile in Turkey, the T129 Pakistan chose instead doesn't have an engine thanks to American sanctions. So why isn't Pakistan dumping the T129 and going with the Z-10?

We went with the T129 before the sanctions on Turkey. No official word has come out yet on what happens next.

As for why we went with the ATAK, they held trials and the ATAK was selected over the Z-10. (They might even have 'tested' the Z-10 in actual combat in Zarb-e-Azab, which is a rough area to operate in.) In any case, I think the Z-10 would win anyway now, not just because of upgrades it has received, but by the fact that the ATAK program's future is uncertain anyway. I won't be surprised if the PA will end up regearing for the Z-10. We definitely need a good gunship to replace the legacy cobras soon.
