Kashmir: news only, no discussion

(Not familiar with the subject, did some reading and giving brief thoughts)

I suspect that Pakistan's fate is now tied to that of China's. If the Mainland were to go down, there'd be nothing to stop India to finally take over the disputed territories short of full on war. China's in no spot to go wade into the Kashmir issue right now when multiple interests are trying to tear apart the country. The PRC hasn't forgotten Pakistan, the all-weather friends they are, but fighting one battle at a time. If India were to push into actual Pakistan administered territory, I strongly believe there would be quiet words whispered to Modi that the Chinese would not tolerate it at all AKA military intervention.

Let me brief you the history of Kashmir.... at the time of partition (Pakistan/India) it was decided through census that all Muslim populated areas will be merged in Pakistan & Kashmir state was one of them but the time of partition the ruler of Kashmir who was Hindu deliberately delayed the merger till Indian forces took over from British Forces... since then people of Kashmir are struggling & fighting for their homeland.

There are several UN resolutions for the same (giving the right to Kashmiri people to chose their destiny) but India is constantly denying that, Kashmirs lost already 100k of lives for this cause but till now nothing has happened & now icing on the cake Modi govt impose curfew there and the whole state is under seige for than 70 days with out food/medical supplies/Phone & internet etc.

you can get more stuff on net for the same, while on other hand Pakistan is just asking the world to let people of Kashmir decide their fate as per UN resolution and nothing else....

am curious what development would it be -- according to you -- causing continental China ("the Mainland") "to go down" please
Take your pick. Losing the Trade War. Being sanctioned because of lies. (Future) Leadership proving unfit. Long list, you can think of many by yourself.

Thank you for the rundown.

There's a big problem in that the UN is a nice paper organisation and usually doesn't do much other than talk. I don't envy people who have to try and fix this mess. Even if a country were to sponsor a binding resolution, it'd be veto'd at the UNSC - probably by the Americans. What to do, what to do, what to do. If Pakistan were to use the R2P card, countless hundreds of thousands if not millions could die in the resulting war as no doubt India would seize this opportunity to go finish old grudges between the two. I honestly don't know how the situation can be fixed, and sitting it out seems to be the least worst option for Pakistan at the moment. In that regard, Hong Kong and Kashmir are a little similar. All options are bad, and then there's the least bad ones.

Monetary & Political interests over HUMANITY....

For Pakistan options are there but Pakistan looking for peaceful settlement by asking the world to let Kashmiri people to decide their fate by exercising the right of self determination under UN resolutions whether they want to join Pakistan or remain with India or Independent state.

Very simple ... world should act above from Monetary & Political benefits ...

You can't compare both, Kashmir's struggle saw the loss of several thousands lives plus thousands injured some handicapped for whole their lives and has span of 7 decades hence you cant compare both....

india changed the status quo in kashmir. it's a calculated move. when you think of kashmir and palestine, india is playing the role of israel. changing status quo, building facts on the ground, and force pakistan to accept it.

NOPE .... 1st Pakistan is not Palestine & India is not Israel .... 2nd Pakistan has cards in its hands and have ability to play those ... hence what India did & wana do is not very simple ...
