I've read that Chinese rescue mission of Malaysia airplane had been rescued by Australian because of some problems, but i dont know if it's true.
I've never encountered a news of this. Some guy claims it's true. What do you think?

AFAIK no one has been rescued by either Australia or China, the wreckage hasn’t even been found.

Both countries sent teams but weren’t able to find anything.

Trust me when I tell you, the Aussies would have crow like peacocks and the whole world would have known about it had this alleged rescue of the rescuers took place, besides as “Biscuits” had pointed out, it was not a rescue mission, it was more of a recovery, the plane has still not been found.

Hey,

For you, what are the advantages of a Universal-VLS ? I can't think of any major positive aspects of having a VLS capable of firing every types of missiles compared to a panoplie of VLS with their own missiles.

Perhaps they are looking at the DF-15 / DF-ZF missiles?

Does a hot-launch of a DF-15 missile generate too much heat and exhaust?

Or did they decide that it was just easier to design a VLS to accommodate the existing cold-launch DF-15 series?

The base model of DF-15 is 9.1m tall, 1m in diameter. DF-15B and C are 10m tall. The UVLS is 0.82m x 0.82m (~1.2m diagonal) and the deepest variant 9m deep. Even if DF-15 could somehow fit into the UVLS, there would be no space for the cold launch mechanism.

Additionally, the warhead of a DF-15A alone is 800kg, more than half of HHQ-9's weight (1300kg).

Why does the VLS have to be for an existing missile? Having a larger VLS able to accommodate future missiles of larger size than legacy naval VLS would enable the development of specific navalized missiles.

Claims a hypersonic AShM "YJ-XX" meant for 055 has done land tests. Designed to be capable of defeating defences like SM-3 Blk IIA and SM-6 Blk IA. Likely related to the famous ship launched HGV/AShBM slide.
