You preach to a convinced I am one of the very few to post old fighters F-4 etc... even Chinese members leave theirs J-7 etc... so happy to catch but ofc these brave Warriors are a bit outdated ! but machine for true mens very few electronic and two barrels yeahh  :)

True men is right, there really weren't and aren't many chicks would could "manhandle an F-4, or J-7, those old gals were just waiting for you to "relax" so they could "clean your clock" one last time! In contrast F-22, Euro-fighter, F-35 are all polite little ladies waiting faithfully to do your bidding, and to do their best, every-time!

... I say just about even money we see a different price on the F35 before long though that is almost certain
The price on the F-35 has been steadlily declinging just as the contractor soad it would, and just as the military agreed to.

That will continue.

Trump is not a fool...but he is a hard negotiator and he will go through the art of the deal to make sure he is getting the best deal he can.

I have no problem with that because I see it happening anyway.

There re already 200 of the aricraft built and in the hands of each of the three US branches of service, and in severala of our allies hands. That's not going to stop.

despite issues, the f-35 is leveling out from an overall progam standpoint...and I believe Trump is simply going to make sure that happnes...good for him in doing so.

He is putting together a heck of a team who will advise him well...far better than anything that came out of the last eight years in Obamastan. They will give him the good advise and they will carry what's best for US interests forward.

For the F-35 it is going to mean a better program and perhaps some quicker cost reductions...but Trump knows the US military needs some attention and he is going to make sure that those companies who can help him achieve that all are fairly paid and taken care of as they negotiate with Trump's team.

On the negotiating part we all can agree and his cabinet picks are Par excellence in my opinion some of the I have ever seen now we shall have to see what the next move is I tend to think there will be some sort of compromise worked out where the 35 will be next to more 18s but that is just an opinion and that may not be a bad thing at all now he needs to put an eye on my other project of interest the LCS and put some ESSM on it I know where there is a will there is a way to do that

Regarding the F-35 and Trump's comments on this matter. Its clear that Trump can't cancel the program, as he doesn't have the power to do so anyway.......but he really is as others have mentioned will try to get the future spending of this project under some sort of control, as so far the US taxpayer has forked out a staggering sum of money on this aircraft.
I think that at the very worst that if for reasons, that the F-35 doesn't live upto expectations, then i could see Trump reducing the number of air frames built in future years, but then again there are a lot of aging F16 and F15's to replace, so if one was to cut down the F-35 numbers, then either the US air force would have to put up with a much smaller complement of fighters, or start to design a new aircraft a.s.a.p. (mind you that would take ages in itself). I think the F-35 program will continue, as its too late to do anything about it if there were serious problems, and cancelling it now would be a disaster for not only the US but its allies as well. I mean here in the UK we would have 2 brand new aircraft carriers, but no alternative VSTOL plane to use on them. Lets hope all concerned get this F-35 project sorted out, and on an acceptable future cost!

It is a concern, Trump is a "delegator" on 90% of his business volume, but looks like the F-35, which he has a history of criticizing, (because that makes you look KOOL!) seems to be a "target" in his sights???

Trump is the wild card here, he will get his big calculator and magnifying glass out, and read the fine print in the contract, and he will reduce the costs and wiggle room. This could be a very good thing, if he applies his talent to building the "best bird for the buck".

There is NO doubt that JSF has suffered from desiring too many super wazoo doo-dads, much as the Ford class has and will??? it is, what it is??? So, we need to simplify it if possible, get it into service and let the respective Airman/Aircrew get on with getting it right..

It would be "UTTER STOOPIDITY" to attempt to replace the F-35 with any type of F-18, cause it just won't fly?? in the real world?
