We had our 7th straight day over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Expecting three more.

...

wow ... here a hundred is unusual, but ... in the place in Prague where I've been living for twelve years, we had one today (I believe during this time it's happened just once before, on the day with the highest recorded temperature ever in this country: almost 105 F, August 12, 2012, in some village in like a valley close to Prague); the meteo station closest to my place showed this (the highest tick in red marks 40 C = 104 F):

which is not official as it'd be from a professional station, but indicates there was a hundred here because ... the rain (and cooling down) after 14:00 hours actually didn't come here LOL

as for professional stations ... here:

you could see daily temperatures in downtown Prague since 1775 :)

Well, Jura, we had our tenth day yesterday over 100 yesterday. But it is supposed to be in the 90s today and all of the coming week.

The hottest summer in my life, which I experienced, was a couple of years after Gail and I got married. It was in the Dallas, TX area (we were living in Arlington) in 1980 or 1981 I believe. We had like 31 days straight over a hundred, with six or seven of those being 112 or more degrees.

In our home at the time we only had a swamp cooler...no central air. That was a HOT summer.

once I arrived at Jackson, Miss., at 11 pm (yes, in the evening, in the dark) in the beginning of October, and there had been a rainstorm before (I figured this from water pools on the runway), but the temperature was 84 F; in the first moment I thought the thermometer was broken, but I quickly realized it probably wasn't ... Southern Heat! :)

I grew up in north central Texas northwest of the Dallas area.

I can remember growing up on the ranch and hauling hay. It was so hot during some days that we would sleep during the day and do the work at night.

I can remember nights in July and August at 12 midnight where the temperature was just then getting below 100 degrees. Maybe get down to 93 degrees before sunrise.

Houston is unusually cool this year. It's still mostly mid 90's now in July, when it would've been low 100's by now. But I'm not complaining, not at all... It has rained so much that they actually lifted the firework ban in our neighborhood!

We had that continuous >100 deg weather a few years back. I think it was 2 months straight with >100 F?

After a rather cool spring and early summer, with one hot week in early June, temperatures were soaring this last weekend througout Germany. With tops of up to 40°C / 104°F in some parts, and just a little less in the rest of the country. This week it's a little less, probably around 35C/90F, after there have been some localy severe thunderstorms following that record weekend. The coming weekend will likely see temps going to around 100F again, in generally good weather.
There's some really hot weather pockets allong the middle rhine valley for example, were my durability was tested. Along the alps it's a little cooler, though, fortunately.

And right now, most of the time it's rather dry air. However, north central texas can be rather humid, making those 100F all the more taxing, right Jeff? Even the somewhat regular evening thunderstorms don't help that much. Although they may only come a little later in the year?

If I recall correctly, Texas suffered three months of 100 degree-plus heat from June till August in 2010. It depleted Lake Travis, our local reservoir and primary source of water, so much that the lake levels didn't recover to historic average until June of this year.
