City Administrative Enforcer version 城管版本

It used to be a joke, but now it really makes people wondering - WTF is that color of painting scheme for?

(IF) A UN mission can not involve gunships, right?

^ The white colour is probably primer, indicative of beng unpainted nothing more..

While "City Administrative Enforcer version 城管版本" is indeed the most used version amongst all, some other places said if they put the "meatball" insignia on it the uninformed masses would be none the wiser...

Now you ask about UN mission that'd use gunship...actually, they've been using Mi-24 on several peacekeeping missions now, and said its mere presence is effective enough - a UN delegation arrived with Mi-24 riding shotgun would make the waring factions know UN ain't going to be pushovers...

Could this be the paint scheme for deployment on naval ships? Like the 071? What is the possibility of this gunship first deployment on a 071 on assignment against Somalie pirates?

... would the PLA risk using a new gunship (design) over open water? Have any country participating in patrolling the Gulf of Aden (sp?) uses gunship up to this point?

The PLAN paint scheme for the naval aviation's rotary wing aircraft is a grayish tone, or naval camo scheme as seen on some of the Z-8 back in the days...but not white in color.

Now, the PLAN never fielded attack helicopter, not to mention making a naval version would involve modifying the design to withstand the high humidity and high saline operational environment - with WZ-10 has yet reach full design certification, that's an unlikely distraction, at least for now.

Yes it's just fresh of the production line. We've seen similar pics in the past and Z-9s with a similar white colouration before.

interesting you bring that up, so there is no news of WZ-10 receiving full certification yet?

i thought they are producing these birds on large numbers already, old pic showed a bird with serial number 15 and new pic with flight formation, so maybe a regiment or two by now, it is unlike the PLA throwing money at something before ironing all the kinks out

Thanks for the clarification guys :).

I was thinking that perhaps the WZ-10 in the photo only look "white" (rather then "grey") due to the camera's exposure settings, but from what was said above, that's probably not the case.

... now, not trying to imply that the PLAN might/could/should field WZ-10 for anti-piracy patrol. Is there any advantages for using gunships like the WZ-10 for anti-piracy role? Or, would helicopters like Z-9 (armed for the task) be more then sufficient? Basically, I am interested in knowing if any of the other nations participating in anti-piracy patrol off the coast of Somalia have use gunships or have considered using them there? In a way, are gunships expensive to operate for this kind of operation?

C'mon, when all checks out, WZ-10 will be China's first bona fide dedicated attack helicopter design (WZ-9 is just Z-9 doing a side job, PLA already admitted that), and you can bet the official channel will make a big fuzz over this, herald it with as much fanfare as they did with their induction of Dongfeng EQ2050...the first hint would be CCTV 7 begin to run documentaries about attack helicopters.
