Projectile hit Iranian nuclear power plant, UN agency says​

The International Atomic Energy Agency says Iran has reported that a projectile hit a nuclear power in the southwest of the country.

In a statement, the IAEA, a UN body that oversees nuclear technologies, says Iran reported the incident at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant on Tuesday evening.

"No damage to the plant or injuries to staff reported," the statement says. "Director General Rafael Grossi reiterates [his] call for maximum restraint during the conflict to prevent risk of a nuclear accident."

Iranian state media confirms security chief Larijani killed​

We’re now seeing lines coming through from the Reuters news agency citing Iranian state media confirming that Iran’s national security chief Ali Larijani has been killed.

Israel announced earlier today that he was killed in an overnight strike on Tehran. This marks the first confirmation of his death from Iran.

These guys got to learn about how Israel targets leaders in the open and have better security already.

I hope they have a decentralized plan that make sure things go on smoothly when the top guy goes away because it doesn't help them having too guys offed so easily.

He still lives in one of his apartment btw when he was killed. They barely put any security considerations for their top brass.

Maybe they aren't the top brass and merely just figureheads, much like Trump (or any other US) administration is of the deepstate.

Lots of use of cluster munitions in recent days causing a lot of damage to Israeli cities. I guess the IRGC saying that they would gradually start breaking out their more advanced missiles weren't just spouting propaganda.

They were in Tehran doing public marches like a day ago that was broadcast on media. Security matters seem to be the least of their problems because quite a few of them don’t seem to have much self preservation instincts at all.

Maybe they aren't the top brass and merely just figureheads, much like Trump (or any other US) administration is of the deepstate.

I guess we'll see if Iran is still alive and kicking in say 3 months time. Then we know they have a perfectly operating decentralised system and that killing all the heads won't make a real difference.

It could also be that they don't want Israel to know the location of their bunkers where tha actual commanders might be residing, so they avoid putting public figures who are constantly being tracked there.
