The Chinese accept this abuse because it’s a part of their “respect authority no matter what” culture. Like it or not, the West is seen as an authority simply because they hold all the power and money in the world regardless if they got it from crimes against humanity. That’s the difference. The Chinese don’t counter because you’re not suppose to. What do I mean by counter? I’m not talking about just being outright insulting out of the blue like a Westerner would because they want to establish who’s boss? I’m talking about like I’ve always pointed to in here where China takes a year to retaliate for actions committed against them by the West. Why do Chinese take a year? Because they don’t want to come off it’s an emotional reaction and done in haste. But by then the offender has forgotten why so it comes out of nowhere to them and they think they’ve been wronged instead. The West has to see their action then the reaction to it to then understand consequences but because they don’t get that from Chinese/Asians because they think they’re showing respect to the authority therefore they’ll get some reward in the end, Westerners instead think it’s their right because no one has ever countered them before. Beijing reacted swiftly to Sanae Takaichi’s insult because they don’t see the Japanese as an authority. The Chinese think they’re going to get respect back from an authority if they show respect because that’s what they expect in their own society and they mistakenly think that’s how it works everywhere else. The West needs to experience the burn after their insults before they put two and two together that maybe they shouldn’t insult. Because their insult is basically a power move on their part and if there’s no consequences, they see it as being normal for them to do so they’re not going to stop.
