This is the 2nd time Trump has been elected.
So who actually believes Trump is an anomaly?

Plus the Western trend is towards more nativism, so a future Trump successor can be expected to continue, and indeed, be worse than Trump.
So the centrist view is that there is a fundamental change.
Some of the time you read stuff coming from europe or stuff they talk in talk-shows/politics and yeah the 'anomaly' part is still there.
As for trumps successor, GOP/maga will try but they got no one, technically they did try to primary trump in the start via de-santis stuff,
Thing is Trump is uniquely able to hold their base's attention/charm them like no one else, even when he is speaking gibberish,
GoP has no one that can be 'crazy funny' and 'charms the crowd' in that unique way.

The Big fear I have seen in europe is that 'maybe some of the tone/policy shift' isnt just a trump admin thing but broader change in america/pentagon itself, as in it wont change much even if dems come under control(it will just be more subtle).
Ignores the most important factor and the factor that completely rules China out as a viable ally of Europe. That is racism and cultural affinity. US is basically just European settler colony. They are the same race and same culture. Western alliance's main basis is racism.
Oh yes this is true to some extent, although i believe people who want to primarily make money dont really care about racism, they will ally themselves with anyone, any race , dictator or whatever.
But because of race and 'lack of democracy' China will be harder 'sell' to the people that will be voting politician in elections, so thats a factor
This is just a weaponized Cargo ship
Yeah some cargo ship in china was spotted radars n stuff was spotted recently so its that being 'memed'

Trump is an anomaly. Once he dies, they'll replace him with a poor imitation or go back to traditional neo-conservatism.

Also, Trump himself is not very popular. He has a very dedicated voter base, but he's maligned by at least half of the country, and tolerated by another quarter of it.

Uh no. What is likely is that Trump will still be alive, and will choose a successor who will almost certainly become the Republican presidential candidate.

Idk if his ego/narcissism will allow him to pick a successor but even if he does,
if that person isnt as 'Charming' and 'funny' as Trump is he wont make it, His maga base+others (independents etc) wont come out for that person in the same way that they came out for Trump.
And atleast right now there is no one in the GOP that can reach/imitate Trumps energy/style/vibe/charm.

By default, half of the US votes Republican and half votes Democrat.

And remember that if Trump is not the presidential candidate, then the anti-Trump vote will be more difficult to get out

Plus what news or talkshows do you see in Europe that think Trump is an aberration?

Lets move to this Trump 2.0 official thread thread if it continues but last bit i will say.

Gop base is 30-35% not 'half' , We have seen evidence when Trump isnt on the ballot the PRO-trump voters dont come out either.
It swings both ways.,
He is a successful populist, he pulls more people in than average politician, See how overlap of voters that were pro-bernie but then voted for trump when bernie wasnt option.
Hell look at New york mayor election results, Trump himself was acknowledging that People who voted for Him also voted for Mamdani.

Neither party right now has an answer (populist, charming) to that, Gop needs its next 'successful populist' while dems idk what they re doing, prob being cowards a again.
