Big organisational changes coming?

One of the big complaints I have ready over the years is the Central Command is given priority over European and Indo-Pacific Command making any big strategy changes hard to implement.

A quick reading of this seems to indicate a shift away from the Middle East and Europe towards the America's and the Pacific. I have my doubts Congress will support removing European command, but we shall see.

❌ — US Secretary of War Hegseth about Maduro's capture operation: Nicolás Maduro got to meet some great Americans wearing night-vision goggles three nights ago. He didn’t know they were coming until three minutes before they arrived. In fact, his wife said, “I think I hear aircraft outside.” They didn’t know.

I find it weird Peter mentioning what they supposedly said, makes me think they probably also had microphones inside of the compound or perhaps they managed to hack one of their devices.

I wouldn't be shocked if the building was bugged. I also wouldn't be shocked if his wife was using an iPhone and that's what recorded and transmitted the audio to Pete in real time.

Ignoring Trump's insanity, they probably should.

Shifting responsibility for EUropean defense towards NATO's EU members is a rational outcome regardless of who sits in the White House.

Lockheed has reached an agreement with the Pentagon to increase Patriot missile production rate of the PAC-3 MSE to 2,000 units per year By 2030. 2025 production rate was 620 missiles.

Congress has to approve the deal, but if approved it would be a seven year production agreement. Apparently negotiations have been tense with Lockheed as the government has told them they have to pay for the capital investments. Trump has public all said he wants them to end stock by backs.

The United States allegedly used LUCAS (Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial System) drones for the first time during Operation Absolute Resolve in Venezuela on January 3. Published videos show the drones' distinctive engine sound, similar to that of Iranian Shahed-136 drones or Russian Geran-2 drones. There is no official information yet from the US Department of War. LUCAS kamikaze drones were developed by the American company SpektreWorks and were first shown in July 2025. LUCAS drones are believed to be based on the FLM 136 target drone, previously shown by SpektreWorks. LUCAS drones can perform reconnaissance, operate in a swarm, or serve as a communications relay. The alleged technical specifications of LUCAS drones include: The drone's payload is 18 kg, with some estimates suggesting up to 50 kg. Flight time is up to 6 hours, at speeds up to 185 km/h. The drone's range is up to 650 km at altitudes up to 5,500 meters. It's worth noting that LUCAS drones are currently inferior in performance to the Geranium-2 drone. The estimated price of a LUCAS drone is $35,000-40,000.
