Russia Economy Thread

I am sure you understand what "civilian economy" ought to be; but I think you just don't want to admit that China's ally in overthrowing American hegemony suffers economically. It's really hard, at times, to admit harsh truths to oneself. We are humans and that's very human-like attitude. By the way, the civilian economy is the economy which contributes to the consumers' and producers' surplus excluding war related final goods and services. By the way, the Soviet economy in 1989 was larger than in 1988 due to the growth in military production on the expanses of the civilian, productive part of the economy. Ohh also, the German GDP grew in 1944 compared to 1943 due to the war spending...

US military spending during WW2 was 40% of GDP. During the Korean War was like 14% of GDP. During Vietnam it was 9% of GDP.
Russia is spending like 7% of GDP on both military and police.

You talk about Germany in WWI. They were spending 60% of GDP on the military.

Those things are not comparable.

Did you know a B-29 in WW2 had 9000kg payload and a Su-34 can carry 12000kg payload? The Su-34 is also way more accurate at dropping bombs on top of something.

People think Russia will invade the largest Ukrainian cities. That needs armies of several million men. It is much cheaper just to turn Ukraine into rubble by bombing it back to the stone age. And if they insist into a glassed over parking lot.

I am not going to debate or advocate anything here; I have got no incentives to spend hours here. I just made an objective and measurable point that Russia's economy is increasingly struggling to sustain this war. For example, Russia has cut its defense spending for 2026 compared to 2025. That should be a kicker for everyone even when major population centers in Donetsk oblast are still under Ukrainian control. Bye the way, civilian economy is not something new; and was used during the first world war to assess German's capacity to sustain the war.
I kept this thread for information only. but let me give you some explanation and it will help others in understanding real Scientific Power and Real Wealth.
See the Flowers in Putin and Netanyahu today Phone Call. Some People are too bright thats why you have to remove them from public eye there extreme talent and the scientific GDP they created. and there is another group whose Wealth and demographic quality outperform any one else on this planet. This is Putin support base and he may or may not want to disclose full picture. thats why statistics are unreliable.

"Let's see how long you can keep it up before you crawl back under the skirt of a 30 country bloc posing as 1 nation because they're all too cowardly to stand on their own legs."

It's not stuggling nearly as hard as Ukraine or the EU is. And Russia is backed by China, a country that actually can provide real goods instead of an America that can only provide paper money. Russians only get stronger and stronger as they fight so don't worry about our side; worry about yours.
Not everyone in the world is eagerly helping Russia. Kazakhstan is blocking the export of 106 types of articles from China to Russia.

1. The heroic thing is that only China, North Korea, maybe Belarus are helping Russia while all of NATO and more dogs of the West are helping Ukraine and Russia is still winning.

2. I don't trust any Ukrainian source. If Kazakhstan blocks Chinese trucks, we have a huge border with Russia. The trucks will go directly there. Kazakhstan does not want to be an enemy of China and Russia being where it is. It is suicidally stupid and I think the incident is either made up or caused by some other issue. Kazakhstan's president speaks Russian and Chinese; he is like a little brother when sitting next to Putin and Xi at our military parade. When they call him, he must have a very good explanation for why Chinese trucks are delayed en route to Russia and it is NOT that he wishes to join the West against the Sino-Russian alliance.

3. The West often writes articles about Chinese banks being forced to sanction Russia or some other shit. Nothing ever comes out of it. The Sino-Russian relationship continues to build and Russia continues to win in Ukraine.

"Russia: Fuel crisis has spread to southern Khabarovsk region, adjacent to Japan." (Well, actually China)

What does this mean? Is it supposed to be an answer to my post? There is a fuel crisis all over Europe with the EU in stagnation. Homes are warned they cannot turn their thermostats higher than X degrees in the winter. Germany, the EU's main industrial nation just suffered major contraction in manufacturing. Ukraine is not even a functioning economy anymore. This is all you can come up with, a minor inconvenience, in a Russian area on the other side of the country from Ukraine? LOL

Russian gold miners are laying the groundwork for infrastructure

in Russia.

By the end of the decade, Russia will overtake China and become the world's largest gold producer. In particular, the advanced stage of completion of one of the world's largest projects, Sukhoi Log, promises a significant increase in precious metal production on an already high base.

Domestic gold mining is a modern industry, built in Russia, not inherited from the USSR. Soviet deposits are largely exhausted, since gold, unlike non-ferrous metals, oil, and gas, has a very short cycle time for efficient deposit production—sometimes 10–15 years. Of course, this requires adjusting for industries where gold is a byproduct of primary production, such as Norilsk Nickel or UMMC, but this represents approximately 5% of total production.

God scattered gold deposits across the planet, and He didn't place it on our doorsteps. Today, Russia's main gold fields are located in hard-to-reach places, accessible only by helicopter: Chukotka, Kamchatka, Yakutia, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Furthermore, gold mining hasn't made it easy—the world ran out of "easy gold," a la the Klondikes, back in the last century. However, placer gold in Russia accounts for one in every five ounces mined. However, such deposits are nowhere near as rich as they were at the dawn of discovery.

There are no official figures for Russian gold production today. Expert estimates put the lower limit at 330 tons per year (the upper limit is 345-375 tons), or $44 billion at today's price per ounce. This enormous figure is equivalent to agricultural exports. Over 90% of gold mined in Russia is exported. But to achieve such revenue and (high) profits when developing new deposits, miners are forced to build power systems, roads, dams, and settlements. Building an infrastructure foundation. Other less risk-averse mining industries are gradually beginning to follow suit.

Today, every ounce represents a tremendous amount of hard work, extracting grams of metal from tons of rock in enormous open-pit mines. Producers are racing to efficiently extract hundredths of a percent from ores. For millions of tons of extracted rock, these hundredths translate into tens and hundreds of millions of dollars in additional profit per year. Achieving these percentages requires extensive scientific and technological work with ores, chemicals, and processing plants.

Unlike other countries, Russia has a good resource base of as-yet undeveloped deposits: Kyuchus, Sovinnoye, and dozens of smaller deposits. Extracting gold here is challenging due to the climate, refractory ores, and inaccessible transportation. But gold miners are moving there, and with high profitability, they are willing to take on increased risks as pioneers.

Russian scientists have proposed extracting lithium using plants.

RGUNG: A method for extracting lithium from oil and gas fields using plants has been discovered.
Scientists from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas have developed a biotechnological method for extracting lithium from formation waters at oil and gas fields. Experiments have shown that plants are capable of accumulating the valuable metal in their biomass, which could become an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional extraction methods. This was reported to Gazeta.Ru by the university's press service.

Lithium is a key element in lithium-ion batteries used in smartphones, laptops, and electric vehicles. Demand for it is growing rapidly, with forecasts for a 2.5- to 3-fold increase over the next five years. However, global reserves of the metal are concentrated in a few countries:

Russia plans to increase production of rare earth metals

Russia, on its path to import independence, plans to significantly increase production of rare earth metals (REMs), which are used in smartphones, laptops, electric vehicles, and even nuclear fuel. However, to achieve this, a number of measures must be implemented, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, and several experts told RIA Novosti.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that, as part of the federal project "Development of the Rare and Rare-Earth Metals Industry," it plans to increase production of the following metals by 2030: Large-tonnage rare metals by over 50,000 tons (lithium, tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, zirconium); and small-tonnage metals by up to 80 tons (tantalum, beryllium, germanium, gallium, hafnium, etc.).

It seem Putin want Kazan to set the standard for rest of Russia for these kind of events of integrating business with Culture/Sports. not even Cricket is spared.
