The Russians already said they would build the pipeline in Pakistan if it was approved and funding was provided somehow. And China would also be capable to assist Pakistan in building the pipeline if necessary. From what I understand the work on the Iranian side is already complete. The problem is the usual. That Pakistan relies on IMF loans and purchases of US weapons. That it gets oil on the cheap from Saudi Arabia. That Saudi Arabia isn't interested in Pakistan getting closer ties with Iran. And because of this Pakistan has had to endure issues with energy supply which would be easily solved with cheap Iranian natural gas.

I don't think Saudi Arabia care about Pakistan that much. As Saudis are trying to get closer to India( through IMEC), Pakistan will of course distance from Saudis.

India already got their threat from Pakistan compromise after US withdrawal from Afghanistan as the Taliban gov keep rigging Pakistan border, sandwiched!

This is why Iran now trying to get the pipe with Pakistan done so it can link with cpec and further export to china due to losing indian market share from Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan will not distance itself from Saudi Arabia. It is the only country that Pakistan has officially put under its nuclear umbrella.

Very recently, operation started at Nigeria's largest ever refinery Dangote refinery which can refine 650k bpd. Allowing it to become energy independent once this is fully ramped up. It will also put huge pressure on European refineries.

At the same time, it's well reported that China Chemical Engineering group was very involved in this project

it also uses oil equipment from China

a few months ago, China national chemical engineering group also signed agreement to build new 200k bpd refinery in Angola

generally, great to see Chinese companies helping African countries to be able to industrialize themselves and get some level of energy independence and reduce their reliance on European import

The China/Euro rail continue to increase flow of trade from inland China to Europe

here we have the first service from Taiyuan to Moscow completing after 15 days. passing by Erenhot on the way to Moscow,

Shanxi now has established 15 international routes through Manzhouli(inner mongolia), Erenhot (Inner mongolia), Khorgas (Xinjiang), Alashankou(xinjiang at border with Kazakhstan), Mohan (Yunnan) to 40 destinations in 16 countries. This is really important for a land locked under-developed province like Shanxi

more routes continue to build up elsewhere

Chongqing continue to add connection to Europe. It is the primary link from southwest China and ASEAN to Europe

you also have Zhanjiang accessing southeast asia through domestic route + China/Laos rail

And you have shijiazhuang to serbia

there are all these new routes added to make it more economical for business to start in inland provinces. otherwise, wealth gap continue to increase
