Unfortunately that is a blog.

But the article below with the ARM founder makes the same point that European companies are being careful about buying US tech.

so look like Huawei could be unbanned, but i still think they should use Ark OS w/google service for now, and also invest in their own tech from CPU to other tech, and used it in their phone. if the ban happen once it can happen again.

Yes.

My view is that they will continue with Google Android shipments outside of China.
They might as well, since the software has already been developed, but Ark OS won't be ready to compete with the Google Android ecosystem.

But inside China, they will be building that Ark OS ecosystem.
Give it a year, then Ark OS may be ready for international distribution.

Google Android has a 90% market share of the global smartphone market of 3+ billion devices.
And is being targeted by the competition authorities for monopolistic practices.

So the market is big enough for a disruptive new smartphone OS anyway.

Trump’s decision to let Huawei buy US products is ‘not a general amnesty,’ Kudlow says

    • “Huawei will remain on the so-called entity list where there are serious export controls and in national security inferences or suggestions there won’t be any licenses,” Kudlow said in an interview with Fox News Sunday.

    • Trump said he made the decision to allow Huawei to buy US products at the request of American “high tech companies.” The president said his administration will meet to more fully discuss the plan.

    • The Semiconductor Industry Association reacted positively to Trump’s truce with Xi in the trade war, but said it wanted more details about the plan regarding Huawei

As I suspected, it's pressure from high tech companies. So it seems the smartphone and laptop sectors will be saved even in the long-term. Profits can be used to fund future R&D toward independence.
