    you could've linked
U.S. OKs Sales of M1 Abrams Tanks, Stinger Missiles To Taiwan, But Where Are The F-16s? https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zo...er-missiles-to-taiwan-but-where-are-the-f-16s
    then

I mean I feel like I post more than the rest of this whole forum in threads other than those specializing in Chinese weaponry
LOL in fact except of occasional bickering of US x anti-US fanbois, there're no posts other than mine in threads other than those specializing in Chinese weaponry

I don't mind to share (I was taught that way) and I expect nothing in return (OK in fact occasionally I'm getting naysaying etc. LOL!), but it's getting ridiculous

Really? You wanna start this again? F-16s that can't even take off because all their runways are cratered are a deterrent to China claiming its rightful territory, the same China that is willing to go to nuclear war for the integrity of its territory? No, there is no such thing as Chinese aggression in the ROC because you cannot be aggressive to your own territory. F-16s are an empty gesture sale; the purchase is to signal US willingness to interfere in China's domestic affairs, a signal that is a "strategic ambiguity" bluff or a start to WWIII.

I doubt that. Only if they are armed with B-61s to take out the invasion force at its staging grounds. 60 planes cannot hope to make much of a difference against several 1000 Chinese fighters&bombers.

The best deterrent for Taiwan would be the return of US forces to the island and installation of a few AEGIS ashore systems augmented with mobile THAADs operated by US personnel. That would provide a decent ABMD umbrella and maintain a no-fly zone over the strait until taken out.

And it's really not usable as trade leverage either because everyone understands that Trump has no trustworthiness. If you gain anything from him that you cannot immediately take permanently, he will re-neg and use the same thing as leverage for something else, over and over again. If China were to even signal that this can be used as trade leverage, there's going to be a hail of announced weapons sales to the ROC each meant to be cancelled for trade concessions from China. Impossibly stupid strategy. For something like this, it's best to deal with him in consequences to US companies rather than rewards but mostly just let him throw his tantrum while doing your own self-development as he self-injures. That's what China is doing.

Yeah, they'd be taken out very quickly; it's a very small island with a lot of Chinese intelligence. The best defense for the ROC would be the the PLA to defend it. They would then be absolutely safe, and as a bonus, part of the next superpower. All things that no small island could ever achieve, just served to them on a platter. Perfect strategy.

That's just China's viewpoint. US and it's allies would condemn it as an aggression.

Their opinions are unimportant because this is a domestic Chinese affair. China's opinion is supreme in China.

Plus, every one of those countries including the US has acknowledged the One China Policy. Only the US, desperately anti-China would get total selective amnesia. No other country has a superpower rivalry with China so they can keep a level head; even if they condemn Chinese military action in the ROC, they know this is nothing like one country conquering another. They know that this is China defending its territorial integrity, an integrity that they all agreed to as a prerequisite to having relations with China.

If you want to see a real international problem where everyone's opinion weighs the same, then everything that the US does in the Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Iran, Libya, etc... are all true indisputable acts of aggression.

Yeah, maybe. How about China finances 12 of them, with one of them being delivered to Chengdu and one to Shenyang?

Or China doesn't finance any of them, you sell them at production cost so they could afford it, and 2 months after delivery, China puts their blueprints up on the internet?

Which deal sounds the best to you?
