WZ10 is a good helo, looks very similar to Tiger
France has recently just had a field day using helos from the Libyan campaign from thier LHD
they learnt lots of stuff, Nato commanders even didnt approve to send in helos like that but looks like France has pulled this one off, they never lost a single helo even although the threat level was quite high from high calibre guns, RPGs and even Manpads
on many occasions when twin barrel 23mm which lighting up the night sky but they lacked any guidance so were shooting blind at noise they were hearing
when there was a threat from RPGs they never fired on them straight away and waited as to not give any away their positions
and when Manpads were detected no flares or shafts were deployed again to hide their positions
attacks helos come with entire new battle tatics and its the helos and tatics that make the difference, lets hope China can gain similar experience someday and for attack helos endirance and survavibility is a must, they need long range and need to be able to take a hit and keep going, they also need big fuel load for behind enemy lines operations
currently 2 Regiments of WZ10 flying with 12 units each, so thats 24 WZ10 in operation, naval varients should be produced for future especially for the amphibious units and use on LPDs

More than 20 years after the Gulf War China finally got it's own helicopter gunship comparible to the AH-64 Apache. The effect of heli born gunships on tank and armoured columns is horrific. See here this video from the Battle of Rumaila on 2 march 1991 (4 days after the cease fire). As waves of gunship pound Iraqi Republican Guards what is said to have been a turkey shoot.

Man you brought back memorys, i was a 8 year old kid when i watched this video on TV and watched it again today!! Thanks!!
i recall watching the war in a green screen with tracers going into the sky, it was like a movie but real, it was war in the living room, so unreal, after that i have been facinated by military, nice find Franklin!
however looking back its probably the worst example of Apache, no one was dumber than Iraqis when fighting a war, rolling out tanks in open desert was sucicide and it didnt take much to knock out those tanks, basically it was target practice and a easy job for the Apache probably didnt even breal sweat, the true capability of the Apache extends far beyond such encounters
