I thought TY90 already is helmet cued.

I haven't heard of this before, do you have a source?

Seems unlikely to me. The TY90 has been operational on WZ9s for years now, yet we have never seen any pictures of WZ9 pilots with HMS.

I heard that the Apache is upgrading with a new technology that allows it to share information with UAVs and therefore allows it to fight from beyond visual range at the target the UAV is sensing; does the WZ-10 feature that?

I'm not sure if apaches even have weapons with ranges that great...

If you're just talking about weapon ranges that's something else. But don't helicopters already have the ability to fire on targets they can't see. Either another helicopter or ground force paints a target and an attack helicopter can fire behind protective cover. Beyond visual range seems like the wrong term because a lot of ground targets can be not visual depending on the terrain.

It's not that; if the pilot doesn't notice something but a different system does, then it comes handy.

... So it has nothing to do with actually engaging a target from "beyond visual range". I think what you meant to say was that it increases network centric warfare capabilities.

Yes, which can potentially be extended to beyond visual range should the Apache receive longer range weaponry.

Unless the weapon flies high above then comes straight down on top of the target, it doesn't really matter because terrain is going to be the big interference and ground targets can easily hide.

Should longer range weapons for helicopters ever be developed. At the moment even the newest ATGM developments do not transcend previous engagement ranges.

unless ur fighting Saddam Hussian who liked to send his tanks into open desert without air-cover there is very little need for attack helos to fire beyong visual range, and very much doubt in war that scenario would ever arise

unless we are talking about air-to-air missiles for helos attacking helos, but even then its a push
