Re: the real WZ 10

I found this picture on the Chinese forums, any comments on it?
I'd prefer if someone who knows more about helicopters than I do comment on it.

Re: the real WZ 10

That can be pretty much be said about any of China's military projects. Tons of secrecy, lack of information for outsiders, only sources are pictures, guesses, occasional leaks, and of course, if you have the guanxi, the connections to get the information. The WZ-10 attack helo project is pretty real from what I understand it is from my sources. Some of the paper trail exists for it outside of China (such as the purchase of the PT6 engines from PWC). Where there is smoke, there is fire, is what I say.
I agree the Chinese are smart in keeping the lid shut on somethings not like the US who brags about most of their projects. An example is the submarine project where the Yuan class submarine existance wasn't even known to spies from other countries until it rolled up to port. The WZ10 is very much real and running in a fast pace. I wouldn't be suprised if the WZ10 were in mass production already in some secret facilaty

could it be there are two different kind of attack helos, same two different of AWACS?
this helos first appear 4 years ago,but with retrabel carriage.
First pciture first appear in late 2003,posted on top81.com.with retractable carriage, similiar to Z-9,in fact the design is based on Z-9,and a small nose look like Russian Mil-28 presume to house MMW.
the picture later appear in american heritage website,to justify "chinese threat"

Re: the real WZ 10

Now that's confusing me, the pics posted by Sczepan that seems to show the same "helo" that tphuang posted have a covered tail rotor and somewhat remind me of

whereas the

article on WZ-10 shows some pictures that all have that covered rotor design.

To me it seems that are two designs, because differences in those pics are to big for anything else. I also belive the covered rotor design to be of later origin. It would just be another step forward regarding the improvement of general helo design.
