In all the hurry of the J-20, AVIC has put this model up:

I'm officially a believer of the WZ-19. Looks like it's a modern analogue to the AH-1 Supercobra in terms of weight.. I wonder if it will be put on future LHAs.
Looks like there's a mini MMW radar or optic stand on the rotors... Interesting that they would put a model of this up, but not the WZ-10.

Since I'd been away for a while, I'm a little less informed on things. So is WZ-10 in service now?

There is a new TV series (Fighting the 5th Space). At the beginning of the show, they have a bunch of new attack choppers that look like Z-10 flying in an exercise. SO does this mean Z-10 has officially entered service?

With the J-20...er, Project 718 stole the limelight from everybody, WZ-10 continues its testing phase quietly...to say the least, it shares some external character with those from Europe, the A129 and Tiger.

Comparison of WZ-10 and AW A129

AW A129

The most noticeable difference is the sloped body of the WZ-10. It appears that the WZ-10 was designed with stealth elements to reduce its radar signature. In contrast, the AW A129 has a traditional flat fuselage.

There are many other differences that are obvious, such as the placement of the frontal landing gear (e.g. the struts are placed under the pilot's cockpit for the WZ-10 and the navigator's for the AW A129). The air intake for the WZ-10's jet engine is not obvious, another likely stealth feature. On the AW A129, the gaping hole for the air intake can be clearly seen.

On the whole, how similar is the external appearance of the WZ-10 and AW A129? You decide.

I don't think MwRYum was implying there was any copying or anything going on -- all recent attack helicopters look practically identical and for most people they look quite similar.
The design of modern attack helicopters only leave so much room for variation -- the fact that WZ-10 looks similar and competitive with other such platforms says to me that the CAIC enginners at least know some of their stuff.
