Why China doesn't purchase weapons from Asian countries

India and Japan don't have the kind of blue water navy like the U.S., no body does. But they do have limited blue-water capabilities. India operates a carrier battle group, which is the hallmark of a blue-water navy. Japan also operates a large fleet with helicopter carrier, they also operates the largest destroyer fleet in Asia (Japan has almost twice as many destroyers as PLAN). India, Japan, South Korea, and even Thailand all operates a small aircraft carrier; PLAN, has none.

So please don't just assume China is some sort of regional military power just because of its size and population, they have many technical issues to overcome before becoming a regional military power.
The sole reason China is a regional military power is that it can nuke out Japan, South Korea and India all in one hour, and there is nothing they can do about it.:nono:

Ok kids, time to cool down. This sandbox penis-contest ends now before it gets out of hand.

So from this point onwards, only reasonable awnsers with something meaningfull to say will be tolerated. All "we nuke your ass" type of BS will earn warnings to their posters.

I certainly agree all blue-water navy needs an aircraft carrier, but just because a navy have an aircraft carrier, does no mean it must be "blue-watered":D. There are some many other things to consider, where is the nuclear sub fast enough to keep pace with the fleet? Where is the E-2C Hawkeye to pick up see skimmer at an effective range? Aircraft carriers are called bomb magnets for a reason. Any CBG without these weapon system will suffer mightily from a saturated attack. Japan does not have nuclear sub, this makes it valnurable from attack under the water. It also lacks fixed winged aircraft. F-35 is an option, but it have not even entered service yet. The current air fleet lacks an effective anti-ship missile. Indian, South Korea and Thailand suffer same problem as Japan. India have some fixed winger aircraft, but they don't have the necessary destroyer fleet to defend the carrier and they need more replenish ship to keep the fleet at sea. None of them process the capability to take the fight to their enemy's turf. It is just like the German's high see fleet in WWI, it is a mighty fleet alright, the second most powerful navy at that time. Too bad the only enemy mattered, the royal navy have basically twice the number of ships.

In the past, China had many opportunity to obtain a carrier, but it chose not to for a very good reason. Just because China's current focus is to improve the general capability of its armed forces, not to engage in a military contest with any other country, that doesn't mean China lacks any power projection capabilities. It has its own need and it is arming itself with its own pace.
