Sorry, I didn't know that Singapore export weapons to Iran. Singapore did export weapon to Burma, but I cannot imagine US from interventing with that.

And I think that China did not ask was because whatever Asian countries such as Singapore have, China can produce their own and much cheaper.

China's technology was not far behind at all.

Anyway that is only my thought, hope it did not offend anyone.

Best Regards.
ehy,Singapore has at least 40 AH-64 Apache helicopters,20 F-16,and F-15 and F-14.China could dream about Apaches and F-16/15.:china:

You are under the weird impression that Singapore can actually sell them to China.

Which is shall we say somewhat divorced from reality.

Most near all of China, neighbouring nations equipments are purchased from US or Euro. This prohibits re-export to China. And what is left that other asians can offer is basically nothing, cause everything is from US-Euro. What remains to offer China has or is making.

Only countries worth looking at their military hardware would be South Korea naval inventory.

Get your facts straight. Singapore doesn't have any F-14s, and China doesn't need to "dream" about the F-16 or the Apache. The J-11 is at least equivalent to the F-16 for sure, the J-10 is unproven but certainly serves the same role very well, and the Z-10 is China's indigenous attack helicopter, and well it may not be the equivalent of the Apache, it is unfair to say that China can only "dream" of these pieces of equipment. China's arms industry/R&D branches are the finest in Asia.

Im just replying to rhino123. What you are saying is completely correct China's military as you have all heard is growing at a succesive rate, the technology they have, is scaring the crap out of america as well as the EU AND japan because their so close, and plus China doesnt need to purchase weapons from Korea or even JAPAN they have more than the technlogy as well as money to produce it and the knowledge to improve it. take for example the orbital nuclear sattelite they launched a few months ago.....the american had never even had a nightmare about the chinese ever being able to create and let alone launch one of those...but we proved them wrong and rumors are going around that the chinese are about to create bilogical weapons.....we're on fire.

AWB2: China is not 'scaring the crap out of America' or the EU. The PLA's modernisation is causing quite a bit of discomfort in Japan, but only because the Japanese are having to face the certainty of slipping to #3 among West Pacific military powers.
China has been reducing the size of her uniformed forces for years. The ongoing modrnization is the natural result of China's new prosperity and capabilities. The only governments they hope to 'scare', or impress, are immediate neighbors like Taiwan, India and Russia.
The USA and China are not at war, not even a cold war. Also, please remember that Brits, Spaniards, Russians, Germans, Japanese, North Koreans and Sadam Hussein's Iraq have, at some time or other, 'scared' us Americans.

I'm really not sure China's arms industry are the finest in Asian, I think both Japan and Korea makes better quality arms than China. Plus they would have more access to Western technologies.

Your comment makes me laugh. Arms industry isn't just tech access and transfer. Can Japan and Korea make indigenous turbofan engine? BVR missile? Stealth fighter? ICBM? SSBN? ASAT? C4ISR?

Exactly; those nations that can afford and have access to Western arms will regularly select Western weapons over Russian and Chinese weapons for a variety of reasons. The primary reason is a adequate supply chain and quality control; the Russians are notoriously bad in getting spare parts to customers of a decent quality, and on top of that, they are notoriously bad for poor workmanship. The Chinese on the other hand are a unknown quantity in both areas, especially with establishing a adequate supply chain.
