Iowa man arrested after fight over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

DES MOINES, Iowa – Police say an Iowa man was arrested after he pulled a knife on his brother during a fight over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The Des Moines Register reports that Jerome Davis was arrested on Friday after the confrontation with his brother in their Des Moines home. Both men are in their 50s.

Davis' accuser told police he was angry because he believed his brother was eating too many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Davis allegedly made three sandwiches and ate them in their living room, and made another less than an hour later.

A police report says the brothers began to argue about laziness and overeating. Davis allegedly pulled out a folding knife and held it his brother's face.

Davis was charged with domestic abuse with a weapon

When I read the headline of this story, I went, "Oh, no! Did China follow Japan and South Korea on stupid racist comments?" Not!!! I hear everyday worse things if this is the bar of what is racist. Of course it would have to be an Asian writer that would recognize this as serious. And of course if the writer wasn't Asian it wouldn't have been given any attention by how stupid it is to mention but the media need to bash China in any way and spins it to make it that it was racism towards another race. I can see the spin already on why it's racist and not against Chinese. And my answer to that would be it's just like a school district outside Los Angeles where people protested Chinese being taught as a language along with French or German or Spanish because they thought it was equivalent to brainwashing American children.

Ridiculous. "Banana" is not a racial slur. It is not, period. It may have served as an unflattering metaphor in the Chinese article, but it was not a racial slur.

The Chinese article disparaging Locke may be crass, but this yahoo article is just another China-bashing piece of propaganda. The author probably writes for the Epoch Times as well.

It's also interesting how there's no link to the original Chinese article, nor mention of the name of that Chinese media outlet. Just a reference to it being a "major government news service".

It's just embarrassing to a very low level now for me to watch Obama on TV acting like he's serious on global affairs. Critics have recently pointed out the slew of newly appointed US ambassadors that know nothing about the countries they're being shipped off to. That alone tells you Obama doesn't take world affairs seriously.
