I read about the skid row and wonder if this is the place where the homeless drop off. I look up Google Map, but cannot determine if it was near Chinatown. A little worried about its safety.

Here's a map where in the upper right you see that red-line box... That's where's most of the homeless activity because that's where most of the traditional tourist attractions are. Chinatown is the middle of the box but it's too crowded for homeless to panhandle. The ones you do see in Chinatown are mostly looking for tourists to give them money. The bus terminal is about two blocks above from the interstate 80 symbol near where is says Bay Bridge.

I'm not sure what's considered skid row is unless they're talking about the Tenderloin. Most the homeless and other seedy activity are concentrated in a triangle area in the lower left between Geary and Market St. where they meet to Van Ness on the other side. Van Ness cuts through the Civic Center. A lot of homeless in front of City Hall there.

My mistake, that skid row is in LA.

The last time I had been to SF was in 1984, as a tourist and found it a fascinating and romantic place. Have been curious about the place ever since. It sort of like fell by the wayside and then springs back again, attracting software developers and pushing up rentals, from what I read.

I visited SF last year for the first time and it's beautiful and romantic, but it's very expensive to live in for sure.

Does this article make any mention of the name of this intern except maybe a credit to a few of the photos? I've read it several times now and maybe it's frustration building but I can't find the name of this intern. Is being an intern and working at Alibaba some sort of high security secret and this guy is the Edward Snowden of China? Maybe it's the 11 hour work day that would get human rights activists angry to which Alibaba would send a hit man to this intern's home for revenge so he must remain anonymous. This is how crappy and sloppy journalism has become in the age of the internet. I've seen links to articles headlining all about a never seen before photo of this or that has come out and you click on the link and the article doesn't show the photo. They're just reporting about the photo.

If Google Earth is anything to go by - and who are we to question Lord Google - the below image is a 240-foot disc shaped vessel protruding from the ice in Antarctica.

It is definitely not a polar station, nor a plane (as there aren’t any airplanes or helicopters this big in the world). It seems this is a man-made object from the distant cosmos."

Given the images were captured back in 2012, there's little chance that
