I i think an error 600 for the two guns and 320 in a different magazine, if someone can confirm.

For MRSI capacity he have it as last SPG IIRC the first which have it is the terrible PzH 2000, i think is a unique capacity for a ship.
I'll have to check.

But the Zumwalt's will be the first with the Rail Gun...and I am sure at some point a Laser for CIWS.

I believe the Ford class is going to have more than enough power for CIWS lasers and Rail guns as well eventually.

Bliitzer says it can put a smaller 127mm rail gun on the Burkes...but I am concerned about the power requirements.

I do not know if they are planning to do anything to the flight II vessels, or maybe even the technology insert group (eith I believe) to increase the power available.

The US Navy needs to design and build a CGX to replace the Ticonderogas, and that ship should have the electrical power like the Zumwalts.

In fact, IMHO, the CGX should be an AEGIS cruiser version of the Zumwalt. Use the same hull. Add the larger AEGIS radars. Increase it to 128 VLS. Use laser and rail guns for CIWS. Then build about 20 of them to help control the costs.

Six years from now.

"Hi guys, my name is the USS Zumwalt. I just got out of my armament refit and am coming at you carrying 160 ESSMs, 24 LRASMs, 16 VLASROCs, my new Rail Gun with 1200 rounds of anti-surface/shipping munitions, my new LWS (Laser Weapon System) with unlimited munitions) and two Romeo Seahawks.

"I intend to sail into harm's way, looking for any fast moving, belligerent enemy red meat!"

USS Zumwalt captained by none other than a James A. Kirk. Rather fitting if you ask me.

Oh yes, we have been talking about that ever since he was put in the position to get the PCU up to snuff.

I think what would be really neat would be if he continues to be a rising star and became an admiral and was given an entire Carrier Strike Group (CSG) in the early 2020s and have it be none other than...the USS Enterprise, CVN-80, 3re Ford Class!

Admiral James Kirk over the USS Enterprise!

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Navy’s newest and sleekest destroyer pulled into Naval Station Norfolk, making an historic first transit into the Chesapeake Bay and through the Hampton Roads waterways to the Norfolk Naval Base at about 9 am EST.

Built in Bath, Maine, the first of a three-ship class of stealthy warships, the Zumwalt is slated to be commissioned in Baltimore on Oct. 15 and, once officially in the fleet, will ultimately leave the East Coast for its homeport of San Diego, CA.
