The eastern US, particularly Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City, is being hit by a massive Blizzard this weekend.

By Saturday night over 30 inches of snow was recorded at BWI and Dulles air ports, making it the largest single storm snow total on record, and it is not done yet.

New York City already has over 2 ft. of snow.

My brother-in-law in Falls Church, Virginian, outside of Washington DC was approaching 40" of snow by 10 PM his time.

Heavy snow is expected to continue. The Weather Service named the Winter Strom, Jonas. Jonas I blamed on 14 deaths so far.

Top photo reminded me of Jack Nicholson at the end of "The Shinning" for some reason.

something like this happened to me in Massachusetts in 2001 (during an afternoon, a blizzard came and we got one foot, but the problem was there were two feet on the ground already :) so it was waist-deep while I was returning in the evening), and let me tell you this:
as a kid, I had been involved in cross-country skiing for seven years, so I thought I got used to snow ... but in Massachusetts I realized I was not LOL!

I like how this Honor Guard soldier is still sporting a sun glass even through the snow.

Every now and then, our high tech and amazing construction and engineering techniques notwithstanding..we get reminded that nature and nature's God (our Father in Heaven) still rule supreme. Interstate 70 remains closed in Colorado.

We are having beautiful weather in SW Idaho this week. A true Indian Summer with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s during the day and upper 30s and low 40s at night. Beautiful clear skies too.

Simply beautiful weather. We are sitting at 120% of snow pack in the mountains and that is really nice too...we will certainly have more March and April snows, and cool weather, but we will enjoy this while we can!
